I want to believe this but...700 at 165 is either a world record or very close to. If this is 100% real he is the fucking GOAT and at his age this is incredible

As mikes road captain, i will tell you that what you see from him is nowhere close to fake. He had the world record at one point. Still lifts every chance he gets. RFFR.

You’re right, this lift is fucking nuts, but strength does not scale linearly with bodyweight. The smaller you are, the better xBW lifts you’ll be able to put up.

From an article on Upstater website (12/01/23) “Mike Burch of Boston Corners has been testing his strength by lifting weights since he was six years old. That was back in 1956. Now 67 years later he continues to compete for powerlifting medals. On November 4th, 2023 he deadlifted 505 pounds to earn a world record in the American Powerlifting Association for his weight and age. Mr. Burch trains 4 days a week. “You have to have a good mind set and never miss a workout.” “My next meet will probably be in July,” he said. “It takes 8 months to get ready. My goal is to lift 600 pounds in the 220 pound classification.” He’s Putting all those young lifters to shame 😂 What an absolute beast!
