That era had the smack down six, featuring Benoit and Kurt, Mysterio and Edge, Eddie and Chavo in the tag division, while Undertaker, Brock and Big Show were having some insane heavyweight matches with Kurt sometimes getting into the mix. You then have Bradshaw reinvent himself into one of the best heels ever on the mic. You have Cena debut. Hell, even the cruiserweight had amazing matches with Jamie Noble and Billy Kidman and others tearing it up. Paul Heyman was amazing too. I love that era of wrestling

Better than what Roman Reigns is doing now, he can’t smash stack pin both Kurt and Benoit, they would have outperformed and outwrestle the Tribal Chief anyway. Roman wouldn’t smash Chris Benoit or Kurt Angle not even during their world title runs, he would have tap out to the Crippler Crossface or the Ankle Lock and tap out

As was I. The crowd was pretty chill until about half way through the match when it looked like Chris actually had a chance of leaving with the belt. I think much of the crowd was on their feet for both guys at the start of the ovation but Benoit really cemented himself as a future champion in that match.
