I like how Mike handled this. Thankfully no one got hurt, but he's right that he needs to face the music so to speak and deal with it. Making Ollie learn and grow up is a great approach.

I completely disagree with Coach Gundy. By letting Gordon play, he's not teaching him any lesson. Gordon needs real consequences for his actions. Running the ball 50 times is not a punishment; it's something he enjoys and excels at. To truly make him understand the gravity of his mistake, you need to take away what he loves most: playing football. He needs to grasp that his decisions can have serious repercussions. He could have hurt or killed someone, like Henry Ruggs did, and if that had happened, his football career would be over. The only fitting punishment is to suspend him for a week or two, or even three.

Might have lost some respect for Gundy. Jarquez Hunter was suspended at Auburn early last year for something that was never brought into the public light.

Will the legal system let him off lightly too? The cost of a lawyer and fine might be significant for a typical college student, but the financial costs are meaningless to a top college athlete in the NIL era. So will there be mandated counseling, community service, an ignition interlock (got to blow to go)? Suspended license?

There needs to be some consequences for actions. Ollie Gordon is a good running back but Tahj Brooks of Texas Tech is just as good or better! I will tell you one thing, you won’t find Tahj Brooks driving around Lubbock drinking and driving! You will find Tahj Brooks running, lifting weights, volunteering in the community, helping others!

There was/is no accountability as the Kat tried to say with the glasses. Come on, this is all about winning! Gundy needs to suspend him for some games. When he would've played should've depended on him. Workout hard, practice hard...as if you are playing then the suspension could be a few games. Have a bad attitude with no accountability then you won't play and can transfer. You've now told college football that winning and money trumps growing as a man. And for the record, I once played college football for 5 years as a DB. Gundy is desperate to win. I'm very sicken by his behavior as a coach and mentor of young people. I do understand it, and because I once played, I also understand what Coach Gundy is doing. Good luck!😢
