Thanks for sharing this post. My wife and I lived in Elko/Spring Creek for about 25 years and I hiked Ruby Trails many many times over the years. I really regret never hiking the Ruby Crest trail to Harrison Pass. But I used to do the round trip to Liberty Lake and back after work several times a week during summer. It was my weight control regiment and worked fantastic whenever I had the time to hike. Again, thanks for sharing this.

I was wondering your ages? I have plans to do a section of the AT next spring. Your wife is doing amazing. I would likely want to quit. I know that had to hurt bad. She is a definite trooper. Both of you are doing great. Take care.

Tressa Zimmerman Kathy just had a birthday, 62. Mike is 67. We love hiking together. You will find all ages on the AT and all hikers are treated as equals. Thanks for watching.

rick b We were out for 4 nights. CLose to our home town and we had never hiked it. It was fun but lots of open mountain sides. Very beautiful.

Other hikers say it's easier to go south on the trail.. Go high quick, then more downhill....

Can you tell me how you got back to your car? Did you have a friend pick you up or did you hike back?
