There are awesome interviews and then there are these next level of crazy awesome interviews! :) Without the need to brag about this episode, I think this one falls in the latter category! Because this one tells the story of the amazing inspiring engineer and pilot Mike Patey! See full description...
Where do I start to describe Mike Patey? There's just so much to tell about him, like you'll see in this episode. But to give it a go: he's probably best-known for the speed record braking Pratt & Whitney PT6 powered Lancair Legacy rocket for an airplane called 'Turbulence', the heavily modified and insane popular Wilga called 'Draco' and scratch-built Carbon Cub like bush plane called 'Scrappy'!
I had the privilege to have a chat with Mike via a Zoom call, to talk about his history, background, love for engineering and aviation and (of course) some of his incredible airplanes! Oh, and about a couple of inside scoops, but don't tell anyone else... ;)
On the off-chance you didn't check out his video yet, here are some links to his social media channels. Check them out, like, subscribe and follow him wherever and whenever you can!

Ever since I received my pilot license, I shared my passion for aviation with a lot (and I mean a lot!) of passengers! Because I enjoy sharing my aviation passion so much, I would like to share it with the rest of the world too! But since taking on 7 billion people as my passenger isn't really practical, sharing my passion via KZitem is... ;)
Where a lot of aviation channels on KZitem focus on General Aviation at the west side of the Atlantic, my channel focuses on Light Sport Aviation in Europe, primarily Holland and Germany. Light Sport Aircraft are also known as 'Microlight Aircraft' or 'Ultralight Aircraft'.
The reason I make these videos is to exchange aviation stories and learn and improve by sharing. And because I love to share!
