My favourite part of his solo is when he goes flying around the toms. I could listen to that all day.

Heads, tuning, and micing. Literally nothing else matters. Those drums could be made of tough particle board and you wouldn't know the difference.

@@allenwilhelm7799 lmao. Shell material definitions matters. If they all sounded the same. Then all drums would be made out of the same materials. There's a difference between birch and maple. And particle board. There's a reason higher end drums are made out of tone woods. Its not just to sell drums. Wood effects the tone. And you can definitely hear how non wood shell's sound. A metal snare and a wood snare will sound different lmao. If shell material didn't matter. Drum companies could save ALOT of money by just using the cheapest press board instead of expensive tone woods.

funi thing is i actually thought mapex was part of tama, bc im used to seeing mp with his sabians his lps and his tamas, but i found out that mp decided to make a deal with mapex first, then it was tama, (kinda weird considering mp is a tama guy, not a mapex guy)

Yes, agreed. He's one of my favorite drummers ever, but he's never been good at solos. They're boring, but the parts he writes for songs are some of the best prog drum tracks of all time, which is what matters the most.

These are a short live Mapex series called 'USA maple' which lasted about 2 years in the mid 1990's... Mapex was his first endorsement company. He had the kit for a few years before getting finally hooked up with Tama ...(his first Tama kit.Right before this Mapex kit. Was a Tama ImperalStar kit he bought as a young lad in the early 1980's. He was not endorsed with Tama until around 1995/6 But it was used for all DT stuff from 1985-1993ish). This Mapex kit was sold at auction a few years ago for like 16,000$ complete with the DT artwork kickdrum heads
