Billy Parker is my newest true hero now! He is awesome and I really appreciated when u commented on him not wanting to brag boast or say anything positive towards himself and for him to be battling with his condition and showing up lacing up his boots day in and out to do his job no matter what.,, just remarkable and so selfless of him! Thank u to all first responders and crews ! I was in a bad wreck and if not for folks like these I’d not be here to brag on Billy Parker and all these type of folks in the world

I'm on an urban/rural Search and Rescue K9 team... We have no facilities like this, we do our best to simulate in training, but nothing compares to boots on the ground experience. Training is kind of not inclusive...you can adapt to what you see real quick, the hard part is adapting to living with the aftermath. In our line of work our life expectancy is 55... I'm also a veteran so technically I'm on borrowed time, which is no lie, I've been diagnosed terminal, but I'm not ready to lay down and die, I've got some skills and knowledge that's still quite useful, and I know my physical limitations, if you're lost and injured, trust me, you'd rather have us looking than the P.D. or F.D.. We will find you first and will land a helo in unbelievable places.

I'd make a fair wack of coin to , which my mother would all but force me to donate back into the fireman donation pot , it was a heck of a fun week seeing all the guys fighting fires and doing all the training things ! I'm 55 now and can remember it like it was yesterday , good times 💪😎👍🇺🇸

I was 15 and in class at my high school in OKC when the bomb went off. We thought something blew up in our cafeteria. I knew more than the average kid what was going on because my step father was stationed at the closest fire station to the site…. Not that they went back to the station, or home for that matter for that first week. So many people wanted to drop everything and try and help. I tried to volunteer but they kept us at a distance. They had plenty of adults to handle it, which was for the best. After everything was coming to an end(search and rescue) the city had all the first responders and there families go and talk with a disaster response counselor who was supposed to help us deal with the stuff we saw and heard. I guess like a PTSD mental health counseling session. After 9/11 I had that same want/need to help in some way. I decided to join the military. I definitely got dirty in my career field as USAF bomber Crew Chief.

Despite facing challenges and obstacles in his daily life, his determination and perseverance to continue giving back to his community is a testament to his character. Billy's unwavering spirit and refusal to complain about his condition is a true inspiration to those around him, showing that with the right attitude, anything is possible. Billy's willingness to help others, despite his own struggles, is a shining example of the human capacity for kindness and empathy. Billy Parker, you are a true gem, and your impact on the world is immeasurable. we definitely need more people like Billy. I wish you well. Another great episode, Mike.
