Great point. When you eliminate the variable of tensions, you're left with more brain power to focus on melody, thematic development, and expression. Excellent observation.

Great - too bad the evolution from chord tones to improv is cut out at 3:03 !
They may seem stupid to you. Still, if any of them breaks while he's on tour, he can simply go to most shops anywhere on the planet, and get a replacement quickly. Try that with a boutique/expensive brand... just saying. He's not the only player to do this BTW.
