After all the complaints about Fields being pulled for Wilson. It was great seeing the touch Wilson had on his passes. Especially the passes to Pickens when he was in one on one coverage. I get why Chris said they’re an ugly 5-2 but their two losses were on the last play of the game vs Dallas and I believe a 3 point loss to Indi. So it’s not like they’ve gotten blown out by anyone. Defense is pretty stacked so if the passing game gets hot they won’t be winning “ugly”

What "instincts"? Wilson was NAMED as the starter, but got injured. The BACKUP, Justin Fields played, as is always the case when the starter is out. And Fields played well enough to be on pace to throw a lousy 14 touchdowns IF he played all 17 games. Got it? 14 touchdowns. He was averaging 185 yards a game and he was missing the deep ball by 10 feet. Fields did all that, during the WEAKEST part of the Steeler schedule. That last game against the Raiders was a perfect example of what's wrong. The Steelers won by a large margin, but the one long touchdown drive they had, all day, was saved by two things, Harris running the ball and a penalty. Fields, with the great ability to "keep drives alive" was sacked, needing 18 yards on 3rd down, he does what he does too often, NOT take any chance, he throws it a couple yards, getting 6 when he needed 18. Lucky for him, the Raiders had a 15 yard penalty. Minus that, and they are punting. The other two touchdown drives came on a 7 yard drive and a 30 yard drive. I don't know who said it, but "throw the 50/50 ball and he will catch it" applies to receivers like George Pickens. If you will never throw the ball to a man who is covered, in the NFL, then good luck moving the ball. Add to that his missing of wide open guys and I say, he might as well take a chance. You think Big Ben never had an interception? What he didn't have is too many 100 yard games. Wilson, is, of course, NOT the future in Pittsburg, he is there for a year, maybe a max of 5, but the answer has not been shown to be Justin, Justin is a very good backup.

Mike Tomlin is a man of integrity who promised Wilson the starting job earlier in the season and maybe even before Pickett left. He doesn’t want to hurt his reputation among players for the sake of fans who are always unhappy with him anyways.

Tomlin's in the business of winning. If FIelds were playing great, RW wouldn't have gotten a hat. Fields also admitted as much. This isn't Pop Warner football.

Only the media and the haters didn’t know that that was going to happen! 🤷🏻♂️ The majority of the Steelers fan were satisfied with a good team when they can have a great team!

Russ looked not just rusty but yippy for a while there. That moon shot to Pickens really woke him up.

Forgot how pretty Russ throws the deep ball. It makes the job of any receiver much easier especially if there’s a height advantage

Justin is gonna get there. Justin is the future in Pittsburgh. Ultimately Russ is here to teach Justin how to run the offense and how to win big games.

Really? That's where we're at? Steelers defense gave him a short field, WR catching passes that they were dropping, run game was on fire. Russ had nothing to do with it. Defensive turnovers, blocked kicks, penalties, and lucky catches are no QB stats.

7:12 that would be 2018 when they had the Killer B's and were still an incompetent playoff team. The fact Tomlin was unable to do ANYTHING with those late 2010 powerhouse teams is unforgivable to a lot of fans. Let's not forget the goal is to win championships....something Tomlin has done only once and it was fifteen whole years ago.

Amazing what can happen when all three phases of the team operate in concert. Offense is sputtering? Defense gets a pick to jump start. Defense is getting stretched on a drive? Special teams blocks a kick. Offense stalls? Boz being Boz. Running game taking time? Russ chucks it to 14 or 88.
