One of the many reasons why Tyson was so dominant is because he had legs. Being shorter, he could apply his entire kinetic chain to many of his upward punches. Conversely, his opponents had to punch down, a kinetic path of movement that had no way of including leg power.

good observation, the tallers opponents were not only going against tyson, but they're going against physics, bu then again tyson wasnt supposed to be able to hurt guys that oversize him by 20-30lbs who always attempt to clinch when tyson gets inside, but he is just an animal and finds his way around that so credit goes to tyson's intelligence and his innate knockout power too.

It’s crazy how much his head movement and combos had faded even at this point in his career. Firing Rooney and having King and Givens all fooked himself real good.
@varaangsingh
5 ай бұрын
It's Tysons fault. Tyson fired Rooney and departured with Cayton. He was partying in his mansion every night according to the people who lived with him in 1991 and then he went on raping someone. He really dug his own grave. Was he the best fighter in the world? Yes. Was his decline his fault? Also yes.
@wasntme3651
5 ай бұрын
@@varaangsingh Yeah I always said the same thing. Actually Larry Holmes said it in an interview before their fight. He said even if Mike wins that he will eventually go on to basically self destruct. A young man from his background then becoming extremely wealthy and known worldwide and having the only person he could ever trust die left him vulnerable. Add Don King to the mix and it was a wrap. He still had Rooney and others from his original team for a couple fights but eventually Don King convinced him to get rid of them. He made Tyson believe they were screwing him out of money and holding him back. Kind of ironic because that’s exactly what King did to him. As for the Rape thing it’s debatable. The guy could get basically any woman he wanted and she was up to his room at a late hour. I think she hooked up with him then felt bad and did what she did out of self guilt. I could be wrong and if he actually raped her then several years in prison was not long enough. But when you see in today’s society all the claimed rape cases to smear people it makes one doubt.
@varaangsingh
5 ай бұрын
@@wasntme3651 As someone who's favourite Boxer is Tyson I really didn't wanna believe that he raped her but the more I look into the rape case and how Tyson was with women the more I believe that he raped her and Tyson was also convicted. Edit: Not saying that I like Tyson as a person just saying that he's my favourite as a Boxer.

it's just another example how Con"the scumbag "King can brainwash and ruin people. he did it to many but this one with tyson was the worst. we lost what was the most skilled ,devastating boxer ever witnessed until that day,that decision of mike,and the betrayal to the ones that loved,cared,tried to protect and made tyson,all ended.these fights after we seen was mike fighting on pure toughness then skill,he wasn't even close to what he was when he was probably trained and disciplined from the ones Cus lifted for him to be what he seen in tyson. threw all away for Con"the scumbag " King unbelievable. and one of the saddest things that came from it,is just how many people don't think about or refuse to remember how he really was,they only talk down on Con's version of tyson,saying he wasn't this or couldn't do that completely talk like the guy wasn't any good, which is the most bullshit thing ever.king ruined everything for mike,everything. yes mike made his own decisions but with the child like mind and emotional ways he was back then,those decisions were easily provoked by a piece of shit like Con who is the best to do that evil shit when a person is like the way tyson was

IMO Razor Ruddick was Tyson toughest opponent. Ruddick actually staggered Tyson a few times in both fights and this is at a time when Tyson was in his prime. All the fights Tyson lost later in his career none of those guys would have beaten Ruddick and that includes Holyfield. Mike wasn't the same fighter after jail and they caught him at the end of his career. But Don King was the worse thing that happened to Mike.

It's true that he did have a very powerful left hook, but I still think he hit hardest with his right. Think of his one punch victories over Botha and Golota. He was orthodox stance but his left hook was by far his heaviest punch and 90% of his knockouts
