If Tyson had the discipline of a Floyd Mayweather and kept his head together his entire career... He would’ve without a doubt been the greatest fighter to have EVER lived... Period. What a shame he squandered so much of his talent. The man had it all... Speed, Quickness, Freakish power, defense and an intimidating aura about him. He was truly something special... I’m just sad we were robbed of what could’ve been. Nonetheless, he still had a great career.

Most people who say that weren't even watching boxing in the 80s. The competition available always contributes to a fighter's legacy. Tyson was a destroyer but always had difficulty with taller boxers. Lewis would have been his biggest challenge in his prime if they had met at that time. David Tua was a fearsome heavyweight with power but he was too short and couldn't hit Lewis like he needed to. Tyson lost to Lewis and I think he would have lost to him if they had fought in 1989 as well.

To be fair, the British media does the best job of destroying our sporting heroes. The UK performs way above its size on the sporting stage. Weve had boxing champs at multiple weights, MMA champs at multiple weights, won a world cup, perform at each Olympics, formula 1 champions, Indy Car champions, rally champions, golf champions, tennis champions, judo champions, karate champions, snooker champions, taekwondo champions, kick boxing champions, body building champions, strongman champions, darts champions, cycling champions... We produce world class athletes , that's why we follow them around the world, success is never far away.
