I watched the Douglas/Tyson fight live years ago. Watched this old replay at least 3 years ago. Lewis had the longest reach of any heavyweight ever. With shorter boxers like Tyson, Marciano and Frazier, they have to always keep coming forward. They don't have the luxury of boxing on the outside. They can't use their height or weight advantage to lean on an opponent. They can't rely on the jab or take rounds off to regain their strength. I'm a fan of Tyson, but he stood no chance against Lewis or that deadly uppercut. Years early, who knows? Tyson was much quicker and more precise when he was younger. Even though they are the same age shorter fighters are usually done by the time they're in their early thirties. Taller boxers usually last longer. Lewis, Ali, Foreman, Holmes and so on.

Speed, movement, energy, style, in Mike's first 5 years he mowed down guys like Lewis, no matter how tough, he never got hit this much and his movement and speed, both hand and body was superb, not way Lewis would have beat him in his prime, I could not stand Mike at the time, because he was so cocky, I love him now, have been a boxing fan my whole life, Mike was the best ever in my book, even though my man through all those years was Evander, but Evander would not have beat him in those first five years either.

That's the most annoying part of Mike Tyson's fights. People are still at the gates buying tickets and the fight is over. He lacks discipline and finesse. That's why he faded away easily. He was not at all the likes of Mohammed Ali and co!

If I had a dime for every excuse I've ever heard from all of mike Tysons losses id be a billionaire..... even the greatest of fighters in history have losses. Its really not a big deal people. Mike is not the greatest ever he knows that, buster douglas reminded him and everyone else followed suit. He still was a great fighter regardless.
