The commentators in this clip kept harping on about the wrong punch that did the damage. It was the uppercut at 14:58 that did the damage (the uppercut to Tubbs's jaw immediately after the body shot). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Right to the body, followed by right uppercut to the jaw. According to Mike that was his favourite punch combination and it worked just like it did when he knocked out Lorenzo Boyd and he also dropped Jose Ribalta with it.

In terms of weight, what else would you expect from a man whose name literally is Tubbs.

You don't go toe to toe with Mike Tyson that kind of plan goes out the window in no time.

That's not all the way true, Tubbs being an overweight fighter was actually a very good boxer, AND a former champ a fews years before he fought Tyson.

Tubbs gave Riddick Bowe a hard time. He was a really good fighter.

People always like to try and act, like Tysons only real advantage with him, trying to intimidate his opponents. He doesn’t even make iContact with this guy before the fight if you were scared of him that was totally on you.

Exciting fight, horribly boring commentary. They missed a lot of big shots that they could've made exciting.

@@hyena131 true, but how does that affect anything?
@hyena131

@@AnonymousPerson488 It doesn't affect anything per se, but most - if not all - American boxing commentators screech and shout hysterically and point out everything that happens in boxing when commentating on live screen boxing as if it's on the radio and we can't see what's happening. It's almost certain that as an American this is is the kind of commentary you prefer and not this more measured, low key style of commentary. Though Angelo Dundee and Emmanuel Steward were fine boxing commentators. Obviously they were both very informative but didn't talk for the sake of it. Less is more at times. The commentary team here are Reg Gutteridge and Jim Watt. Seasoned professionals that know their stuff. Or 'knew" as Gutteridge died in 2009. He was an amateur flyweight boxer when he was conscripted as a foot soldier with the King's Royal Rifle Corps in 1942. During the Invasion of Normandy two years later, Gutteridge jumped from a tank and landed on a mine. This cost him his left leg and dreams of becoming a boxing champion. And Jim Watt is a former lightweight boxing champion who seamlessly moved into the media when he retired from fighting.

*”You see Tyson’s gotta be smarter. It may well be that it’s not the one shot that’s gonna do it!”* A few seconds later, a vicious left hook has Tubbs (who was very appropriately named!) staggering and wobbling like a drunk after 25 double scotches. That being said, there were quite a few good shots in the previous exchange that they missed because they were concentrating on all the minutiae, such as Tubb’s amateur career etc. That’s why I much preferred Harry Carpenter who was always alert to the situation at hand. As much as I dislike the BBC, Harry was a true pro.
