Paramotor was probably cheaper than trying to carry a mile of rope with a drone too! This was wild, can't wait to see the full video!

I know there are drones made to run lead lines for electric in more remote locations, eagle xf8 by uav America is made for that specifically. I haven’t yet found a price for that specific drone but I’d bet even that is going to be over 10k, and running lead lines isn’t going to be quite the same as pulling a mile of rope. That shit will get heavy lol. Now i want to see a drone capable of such things. Rabbit hole time. 😂

I cant believe he pulled that much rope with his foot even a lightweight rope that long would have some weight to it pulling it like that. So cool! Thats some extreme leg strength lol.

At 300ft a rope like the one he used would be minimum 60 lbs of pull. I imagine the foreward motion helps but at some point that tension hits and you feel the full weight of your line. It was a hell of a snag!

I’ve set up dozens of high lines back in the day(mostly reeving high lines) The logistics are far from easy. I loved watching this set up and appreciated every bit of effort. People have no clue of the effort just to get to an anchor/start point let alone the effort in execution. Hope you patted yourselves on the back. (And yes patted is a word).

@condyshares

@jimijamesnoob685 You need a paragliding licebse to paraglide and for the paramotor add on, it is classified as an aircraft so you need to register it with Transport Canada or the FAA and require an upgraded paramotor license.

@condyshares awesome info. Thanks! That drone test was pretty tough for me. I took a course on it and barely passed. But I didn't take the test until 3 or 4 months after the course so there's that. Thanks for the info! 🫡
@condyshares

@jimijamesnoob685 Eh, no worries at all! The paragliding course does require an understanding of weather patterns and basic flight physics, so it is quite in depth, but most of the testing is physical flights and how well you've done those 30 basic flights. The main thing I'd say is to evaluate your own balance - if you've ever been on a mountain bike or a snowboard/skiis/longboard etc... if you felt like you were a natural at any of these and you didn't have any difficulty keeping your balance - then flying is likely similar. But if you feel like you don't have good coordination and balance in that regard, it's probably best to avoid it. But I know at least here in Canada, you can take the course 1 day at a time, which helps with the financial side of things as well, and you can judge it based off your first few days in the "school". Glad to help :) 🫡

@condyshares that's pretty cool. I'm afraid of heights. Ladders and such don't bother me but I don't like Ferris Wheels and tall bridges so I'd probably wouldn't like doing that but I'd love to at the same time. Do you have a paraglider?
