Ergs are way better, apart from the weight and extra length. Noticeably more controllable shooting gun, and lower fire rate which would conserve ammo. Also cool factor. Those are the pros. In any standard situation there’s no way they would outweigh the cons vs taking an Ak, but in this hypothetical 50/50 ammo & gun availability scenario I could see it being in the realm of realistic.

CoD NEETs would. Because they don't know what real life is. Also. STG is on the level of last ditch wrapons. Its certainly not designed well enough to even compete with AK. Oh and BTW. AK is not copy of STG. M16 and G3 is. Fire away 😂

I think the charging handle is on the right side so you can keep your left hand on the fore-end and shoulder the rifle while cycling it with your right hand. Putting the charging handle on the left means you can keep your right hand on the grip and use your left to charge, sure. But it's harder to keep the weapon shouldered and maintain sight picture that way because as you observed yourself, the center of balance is beyond the magazine. Also, if you're right hand dominant, using your right hand to find a new mag, eject the old one, insert the new one, and charge the weapon is going to be easier than using your left to do all of those same tasks.

The STG was not produced to last. After a set ammount of shots fired the guy will simply break. The solution for it was to simply give a new one to the soldiers because it was easier to make a stronger gun or repair the broken one. Prohibited firearms pre-october 2022 could be "grandfathered" meaning passed down as family heirloom so long as they have the grandfathered licence or status, however that is for prohibuted firearms and certain fully automatics pre-1970's I believe (correct me if I am wrong) now that does not mean you can shoot them only possess them and can only be kept in the house of the owner of the firearm (the one it is passed down to) Of course there are more details of this others can pass down but the gist is you can only own prohibited firearms if you have the grandfather status (not meaning to be an actual grandfather that's just what they call the process of passing down prohibited firearms).
