In this short HD video we explore an old railroad crossing that i walked across many times as a kid. Please make sure to select HD from the video settings to enjoy the details and color of this video. The Fruitvale Bridge that joins Oakland to Alameda. Some nice details are included in my voice over. Little bits of information I was told by the bridge operator and gathered from the public works page. Follow along and check out a really neat couple of bridges here. The Actual Miller Sweeney bridge was manually operated in 1902 and became electrified in 1951. This is a separate bridge and built much earlier than the Fruitvale Railroad crossing next to it. I originally set out to just get footage of the train crossing but learned in the process about the Miller Sweeney bridge.
