MillerKnoll Design Perspectives features a conversation with Jonathan Olivares, Senior Vice President of Design, Knoll, and Salem van der Swaagh, Color and Material Designer, on the new design direction for the Knoll brand. In his first year, Olivares has delivered new configurations of products that imagine and address the post-pandemic workplace, along with a new interpretation of color, material, and finish. By envisioning products that are open for interpretation in how they are planned and specified, Knoll aims to address the needs of the contemporary workplace and capture the optimism and spirit of our time. Van der Swaagh will share more on her latest collaboration with Knoll, a study of the Knoll color materials and finishes (CMF) palette that explores a vibrant and nuanced offering that treats color as material. As Olivares notes, “A Knoll product is not complete until specified by a designer.”
