Millet Pongal / Kudhiraivali Pongal
INGREDIENTS
Millet - 3/4 Cup
Green Gram Dhal - 1/4 Cup (cooked with 1 1/2 cups of water)
Cumin-Pepper - Coarsely Crushed
Salt - To Taste
Ginger - 1/2 Inch Piece
Oil & Ghee - 1 1/2 Tblsps
Cashew nuts
METHOD
1. Dry roast samari rice in a deep curved pan.
2. Pour boiling hot water 5 1/2 Cups along with cooked dhal.
3. Add salt and cook well in medium flame.
4. Grate ginger on top of the pongal.
5. Add cumin-pepper crushed.
6. Cook until soft.
7. Fry the cashews in ghee and oil. Add asafoetida powder, curry leaves and pour on top. Serve hot.
