I wanted to research the Timberdog blades but I only find Timberwolf blades. Do you have a link for where you purchase yours? That's a beautiful log. I have a HM122 also but haven't obtained any cedar yet. Thank you for sharing that milling video.

Have you run any of it through a planer, if not be careful the knots will pull out and you will think your planer is going to explode

Funny how it's called cedar. It's actually thuja. Lovely wood to cut with a big mill except when it still has the bark on. So soft that with small gullet saws it's easy to overload the saw capacity and still have loads of power left. It's a bitch to plane when dry and of course dead knots fly out but only top quality clear grade is worth the effort of sawing.

I have the HM122 also. I got a batch of WM blades late last summer. They were very sharp and offset nicely. Best ones I've gotten from WM so far. They resharpen very well too. I'm still fairly new so I'm no blade expert. I highly recommend the WM sharpener and setter. They work really well especially with the better grinding wheel they offer.

That's something I really want to do. Is shakes and shingals from eastern red cedar. We are building a large tree house this spring and summer. I'm going to try my hand at it!

@@majorpixchannel7146 I think the eastern may be too knotty for shakes . Stuff I was blocking was clean a.d clear ,like I mean 6' diameter old growth. Had a 200' right of way for dead or down , we 3 guys did 3-4 cord a day way back in the mid 70s. All hand balmed out !!
@majorpixchannel7146

@@1Pureblood606 yes that makes sense. I didn't think 🤔 about all the knots. Milled shingles would work out loads better. I would say over time the knots would still probably defect first.
