HEY all, so a few different sites are stating different numbers. Looks as if the weight is 46lbs on most sites, and the miter is 55 to the left and 60 to the right. Sorry for any confusion

I wondered why you said a heavier weight to what I've previously heard, then I thought you must be including the battery or something. Great review, part 1 & 2 ;)

I thought the power was down from what should be...head deflection and having to move the right side fence if u had to tilt the saw that way. And that God awful thing they call a hold down. I sold my ten inch and I am going with the twelve. IDK , maybe I expected too much...

2years later do you still recommend this saw? Specifically I'm wondering if it's accurate and consistent enough for higher end baseboard and molding. I don't do any high end furniture work or anything, but I do need a saw that can handle cutting expensive baseboard and getting some nice joints. Also, do you think it's worth holding out for a dual battery gen2 version? Need a new saw soon though. I have the 7 1/4in version and I like it, EXCEPT FOR it's accuracy. That thing will NOT stay calibrated. I have to calibrate it every time I start a job and sometimes during the day. Not good, and kind of a deal breaker. I was hoping the newer 12in made some improvements in this department especially for the price-tag.

the fact that this isn't a hybrid stopped me from getting this or the milwaukee 10 in. i chose the dewalt flex volt and am happy with my purchase. so having the option to use batteries or plug is what works best for me. i do love the milwaukee miter saws though and most likely will eventually buy the milwaukee 7 1/4 version to do my lighter work.

Once you cut the cord you cut the cord. I have 2 DeWalt flex mitre and have never pluged them in. The key to going cordless is on big cordless tools table saw mitre saw and compressor is start your day fully charged. I use the 4 bank rapid charger.

@@timhappy7223 you are correct but just having the option to cord as a backup is good for me. I'll most likely never have to use the cord but I have the option. I do wish that Milwaukee would give you that option of a battery cord combo just because if you do have a big job something like building a deck for Custom Fence garage where you cutting big pieces of wood it would come in handy to have a battery cord combo but I do have a couple of the 12-hour batteries I think I'm waiting for a sale to purchase one

Hi TRZ, I had a question about this new milwaukee 12" sliding compound miter saw. I was looking on the website on the RPM on the motor but there is none. Do you have that information? It might be me but i got curious on the motor. Do you think they use the same motor from there circular saw? It also has no RPM info on the web site. The case looks a little larger but the motor might be the same. Nothing wrong with it, just got me thinking.

Hi TRZ, This milwaukee cordless miter saw looks pretty nice. I never use the clamp so it won't bother me. Is the weight 56 lbs or 46 lbs? Just asking because milwaukee site states 46 lbs. Saving some money to get one very soon. Thanks for the video update.

@@ToolReviewZone Yes, 46 lbs. That's a big weight difference from every other brand (corded or cordless). I was going to buy the DeWalt flexvolt but this Milwaukee model is lighter and it runs on one battery. The RPM is a little less but that's ok. Can't wait to get one. You rock......

Any way you can create a video showing the dust collection? I ask because I bought the 10 inch miter and the dust collection is horrible. I do see the dust bag get full however, for the first time recently I finally hooked the dust collector, 2hp, up to the dust port and there was just a ton of dust. Made the idea of hooking up a permanent dust hose and blast gate completely pointless. Now that I think of it, seems more dust was being left on the saw than I ever had when using the dust bag. using the dust collector seemed as though a lot more dust was on the machine and else where. I will do my own test just to see exactly what is happening but I should be able to rely on much better dust collection than what I saw.

The pull design is basicly a 7 year old copy of the Bosch GCM 12 SDE just cheaped out. Why put adjustment knobs on a saw at this size? Over the pond this thing is a 1100USD bare tool. Its the same price than a Festool Kapex 120 and this is not even comparable. One is a fine carpentery tool while the M18 is a not so good construction side saw
