Griffey and Thomas and not even a SNIFF of the postseason?!

Incredible, right? You would've through we could've finished the challenge early, but we didn't get a supporting cast around them. Then they ditched us right as the golden generation was arriving. Ken Griffey Jr. did horrible with the Mets, so I'm glad he left in hindsight. But Frank Thomas presented a huge problem on a division rival.

Cool! Hope you don't get too frustrated with the rules but I love the early 70s in baseball

Thanks for watching and commenting! This is my second save involving the 1970s this year. Gaining a deeper MLB knowledge of this time period has certainly been enjoyable. If by “rules” you mean the reserve clause, the financial era and settings themselves don’t bother me. That’s how they did contracts at the time so it’s part of the experience. That said, I do have suggestions for OOTP to improve the gameplay experience associated with the reserve clause that I’m going to include in an upcoming video.

@@baseballdreamland9923 no I meant letting the AI manage everything and just guiding it a bit with the owner goals. It's an interesting way to play though . I'm currently making an alternate MLB history that I will then use to do slow-paced sims in in different eras. I may try this with one of the teams while doing it. something to follow while simming through the years from 1871. Thanks for the inspiration

@@Iridescence93 Oh I see. I created those rules, so I’d only have myself to blame if I didn’t like them!

@@Iridescence93 your idea seems neat by the way. See if you can win a WS with three teams in the same save. One as a manager, then one as general manager, then one as owner.

@@baseballdreamland9923 I've tried GM only but I don't enjoy it as much as managing and playing every game because I like the story the game tells that you get a lot more if you play it slow. One thing I've never done is just manage and let the computer do the drafting and trades. That may be an interesting playthrough sometime I suppose

Good riddance to Bud Selig. I should do a retrospective of the White Sox owner-only save I do check-ins on.

Yes and yes! Would be fun to see more people try the challenge and retro their results. Could put them all in a playlist.
