This was my first purchase into the M12 platform. Absolutely love this drill! Im an RV tech by trade and I use this for pretty much anything under a 1.5 inch screw which is pretty much everything on the interior of an RV. Perfect tool in my opinion.

My first Milwaukee M12 as well. I am renting a place and decided to help the young couple I'm renting from. This replaces multiple drivers, and the best part is that it has the needed torque in such a small package.🎉🎉

I’ve had this drill for about 2 years. Use it for when I don’t want to use an 18v drill with is a lot as most UK equipment is pretty small and fiddly. The interchangeable heads is nice mostly use the chuck and just stick 1/4 inch bits straight in the drill. I’ve used the offset and angle bits maybe 3 times each but when I needed them they were life savers and saved me hours of time. The front magnet is nice too. If you already have a lot of m12 stuff like me it’s decent but not as a stand alone.

I got mine earlier this year. I'd say i use this around 80% of the time. The right angle and offset have really saved me a couple times. Money well spent🤟

I'm a UK electrician and have had this and the heads in my tool bag for a couple of years. Use it everyday, but have 18v impacts etc in the van for bigger stuff.

Literally just got this today and used it to install double French doors. Really nice and light weight. The heads are pretty cool too. Got me my first packout to boot specifically for this. Pretty nice I’d say. Gonna see about getting me the bit pack tomorrow

Had this for about 2 years now. Used the offset once right angle about 4 times. Those alone paid for the time it saved. Otherwise it's a niche tool. More comfortable than my 12v milwaukee impact but that's for my hands.

We do controlled shades and this drill would come in clutch for that. Being able to swap heads and bits, getting into tight spaces, etc.

I picked this up, the trigger sticks, underpowered even for a 12 volt and the mode switch is a pain in the ass

I really want to get this tool to try it out but I can’t really think of how I would use it in HVAC. I currently use the m12 impact with a flexible extension.

By far one of my favorite drills. I reach for it first everytime. So easy to swap heads you just need to bring bits and you are good to go!!

My only complaint about this is the fowards reverse button
@user-et5mz5ex9s

It's actually designed so that you use the trigger with your middle finger and have your pointer finger on the side. Holding it this way makes it way easier to press the button naturally with your thumb.

nice :) i like those i want a festool too . after wanting this tool for 2 years i bought and returned, then got the bosch because its cheaper and i dont like the D handle on milwuakee. Im using it for lighting installation and its great. mostly use the offset attatchment and the drill chuck attatchments. only issue is its a pain to drill through studs with but light enough to keep in my toolbelt hammer holster. the milwuakee is heavier but i do want the magnets, & the fwd rvrs switch sucks. bosch baterries more affordable but not as good

I’d love to see what uses you find for this. I can definitely see the offset being super clutch when you’re hard up on something like a wall or in a cabinet etc. I wonder what the deal is with the power compared to their impacts and their drills since it’s sort of both??

I compared the torque spec of both the 2021 Milwaukee impact drill which read 280 neuton watts of torque (or whatever the proper term that torque is measured in) and the instillation drill was advertised at 300 neuton metres of torque. But take that with a grain of salt as advertising isn’t always accurate.

My thoughts are: it’s was an expensive $350 dollars to get it in aus when it’s too nice to be brought onto my worksite. Even have an AirTag on it. I bought it because it’s the only inline grip drill i can find. It’s a tiny bit of a shame that the reverse/forward switch is on the top not quickly accessible (I can switch it easily with my thumb, it only takes a couple seconds to be back to drilling) however, the switch on the normal Milwaukee drill I always press accidentally because I always end up holding those pistol grip drills with an inline grip unconsciously. So in summary: the instillation drill is my baby.

The tool was actually designed to use the trigger with your middle finger and your pointer on the side. Having your hand higher on the tool makes using it more natural, but also makes it easier to press the button with your thumb.

This video answered a question I've had for a long time: Do metric countries still call them quarter inch bits? Apparently they do
@AddictedtoTools
Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Only because that’s what they are. We use socket sets that are imperial and call them as such. If we make something or measure something we don’t.
@WarBrokenSP9

Precisely what OP said, we call them by what they are, and that's a ¼" bit holder... What else we gonna call it? And by metric countries you mean literally the entire world aside from America? Sure.

I've ordered the metabo one of these, the digital reverse switch on the milwaukee is silly and unneeded, and is in the wrong place to be able to switch it easily.

If you were doing less intense works and needed multiple drills. Hex, right angle, offset… I would see joinery workers using these for instance. I know I’d use the offset bit often.

Picked up one of these the other day. Used the Home Depot Hack and got the full kit with batteries fo $113.00. Already used it 3 times and will be using it again (with the right angle drill attachment) to drill out a stuck bolt on my engine so I can get an easy out on it. That would be impossible to do with a normal drill (not enough room), so it already paid for itself.
