Your question at 16:06 … XGT & M12. M12 is an amazing platform.

The same I started with the M12 Serge small and light don't notice it as much when hooked on tool belt not as noisy as a regular impact. I would like XGT to bring out a compact pouch cell battery but who knows with Makita 🤷

I do hvac and I bought one of these. I love it. No issues chewing through 18 gauge duct, 16 gauge fire angle, even cutting through stainless. Even the Dewalt guys I work with went out and bought this. Thing is a game changer.

18V Makita all day. Just very quality tools. They may not be the most powerful in a shootout, but they’re smooth with great ergonomics and have more than enough power. M12 is AWESOME, I own most of the lineup. Automotive and trade-specific solutions with compact size and light weight. The handles suck (and I have XL hands) and Milwaukee’s “chunky” ergonomics leave lots to be desired, but those gripes pale in comparison to the selection of tools they offer. The undisputed 12V king. M18, not my cup of tea. Chunky clunky feel (compared to Makita) and some of the Fuel tools are just too darn expensive for a non-pro to justify. Even one like me who’s building his own house. I’ve been using 18V Makita since 2009, no regrets.

Great testing demo. I like how well it works on plastic and aluminium. If you ever do an updated video, I would like to see how well it works on aluminum. It’s very hard to find aluminium for sale in the USA. Amazon UK will ship it but the shipping cost is prohibitive.

I've been buying battery powered tools since the late 70s. I honestly don't know the number of battery platforms I'm in. I have tools with permanent and removable batteries in over 20 platforms if you consider electric screwdrivers etc. No one manufacturer makes the best in every tool, or even makes every tool. If I want an sds-plus drill I'll buy a Bosch Bulldog. For for a circ saw I have a 36v Metabo HPT that does very well.

Funny, I am makita but have m12 for compact tools, 3/8” impact, rivet, grease gun, m12 rotary hammer is the bomb. Btw, add the extension to the m12 rivet

On point observation... My main is XGT now with some LXT(multitool etc) and M12 tools mostly specialty tools like rivet gun, but i especially love the 3" little grinder with grinding disc permanently on it for small debur job, quick and more than enough power to grind away small uneven shit without a second normal size grinder edit: but the handle size.... always need to mention handle, quick few sec job not big deal tho

As an A/V technician, I need to carry my tools around with me, and don’t need a ton of power. M12 is far ahead of every other compact system. Ridgid’s 18V tools delivery 95% of the results for half the price as M18. M18 is the best, but I just don’t need it for what I do, and can’t justify the cost.

Looks like a great tool. It does not have to be a big bulky 18V tool for every job. For smaller screws the 12V/10.8V drills are perfect for example.

re gloves those are ansi cut levels - the standard ranges from a1 to a9 where a9 can withstand 9k newton force applied. my money is on hexarmor though if it comes to gloves because of the reliable 360degree protection at given rating.

This kind of tool is the reason I bought into M12 alongside my 18V Makita. Originally I just wanted a lightweight drill and it made more sense to buy into M12 than to go for Bosch. Wouldn't mind seeing the M12 vacuum suck up those nibblings.

Makita has a 14.4v cordless nibbler. The price is rather nasty, although it's not that different to this Milwaukee in AUD terms. I'm not a professional so I cant justify the purchase of the M12 or M18 line. Strictly Bunnings Ozito (probably Einhell) junk for me 😉

Started with Ryobi starter kit and then jumped into Makita 18 (for track saw, router, and subcompact drill/impact, outdoor tools, hammer drill, and impact wrench). Gave Ryobi drill/impact away and got Brad/Finish nailers for trimwork. As I’m getting into cabinets I just dove into Mil M12. If I had to do it all over now from scratch I’d do: Ryobi for mid size nailers and household convenience items (compressor/inflator), tools I don’t need to be that powerful or small, or things like lights that make no sense to pay double or more. M12 for compact tools Makita 40V when I need a powerful or precision tool that I don’t want corded and the other two above don’t fit the purpose

I got this nibbler a few month ago. I haven't used it much, but it's REALLY COOL. Fast, spark free, contains the cuttings, maneuverable, light and cordless. Whats not to love? If you work with sheet metal, this is a must-have, no brainer. I've made this comment on numerous other videos. I have 18v Makita and Milwaukee and M12 Milwaukee tools. Many are the same tool, just different platform. Unless I need big power, I find myself reaching for the M12 stuff first just about every time. When I need circ saws, big drills, and other POWER tools, of course, I go with the 18v. I DO carry an M12 circ saw that's tiny and has enough power to make some occasional cuts, but you won't be cutting lumber all day with it. That's not it's job. The torpedo batteries that cause so much heartache with some about grip comfort enable something wonderful. Without that large flange on the bottom to fit slide packs, you can get a LOT of M12 tools in a tool bag/box. I have big hands and love the M12 grips. I don't discount anyone's personal feelings on that subject, though. Go with what YOU like that fits your needs. I might watch folks drive 12in lags into railroad ties, but I don't do that. If I do, I won't be using a 12v tool for that. The "best" platform is the one that fulfills YOUR needs best for the task at hand. Am I going to buy a new tool for a 10% increase in productivity? Not unless that 10% means significant time savings over a work day. A 10% increase on a task that you only do 3 or 4 times a day that would save a minute is not worth it to me. If I'm doing it ALL DAY, different answer.

As a french 🇨🇵, i use cut resitant glove everyday on jobsite so i learned the quality standard with time. So in Europe it's 1 to 5 . 1 is crap with glass so 5 is the top. The US standard are different 1 to 9 so your Milwaukee gloves at 7 are not bad but there are not the best on cut , sorry !!! Btw you make a great job with your roof 👍💪. Sometimes Milwaukee really hits it out of the park with their trade specific tools, doing just that one thing extra different or better that nobody else does. The kangaroo scrot, the adjustable cut angle, and the small size on this make it a winner. I don't work with sheet metal too much, and when I do my old pneumatic nibbler and rivet setter does the job in a pinch, but I gotta get this and the m12 riveter before too long.

M18 or M12? Probably M12 though the good thing with Milwaukee is most of there chargers charge both M12 and M18 so it makes it easy to get both. A very rare instance I think that Makita could take a leaf out of Milwaukees book and make a charger that charges all their batteries

As an American who's fairly well traveled and appreciates all accents. I even dated an Aussie. And I think the Australian accent is my favorite (NZ sounding almost the same to me). "Aluminium" just sounds silly compared to aluminum. That's the one thing the American accent has on the rest of the english accents.
