Great review! I just bought one of these a little while ago and same thing it has seen way more action than my full-size Makita. I mainly use it for scribing cabinet fillers but since it’s so easy to use, I end up grabbing it a lot more for other things, too.

I was bummed when Milwaukee released this one because I had just purchased the Bosch 12v planer a few months before. I’m really happy with the Bosch but I already have a boat load m12 batteries. Plus the Milwaukee has more power. Like you I bought a Makita corded planer decades ago and have only used it a few times but I find that the mini planer is so easy to control and use that I find myself using it for a lot of things.

It’s amazing when a tool comes along and it totally changes your process for certain tasks

I honestly never try to use a planner because i almost always use a belt sander. So my question to you, which is better?

I am with you. I am not a planer guy. I use a belt sander

I would have used a belt sander over a regular power planer but this is so small and compact and u can take 1/64th off it makes it really easy to scribe to a line . My brother had a really small porter cable that fit in one hand and that thing was great someone needs to make a cordless version of that !

Neat tool! Would it work for flushing up window and door sills?

Wish they'd put a helical head on these. I know it would be pricey, but it works so much better in my thickness planer than the old 3-blade head.

Yah that would be awesome . If you get nick in your blade just rotate the one blade and carry on

Findbuytool might do it actually. Apparently they do custom cutterheads. They do a drop in for some makita hand planers already. I have one of their heads in my thickness planer and it's a solid piece of equipment
