I've read plenty of people complaining about this same string trimmer over heating. Not just a couple but numerous complaints about it just stopping when it gets hot. Be it running for 25 minutes, or running for a short time in hot weather. This sorta sounds like a commercial?
@itsmedravfrom1987
Жыл бұрын
Yes. I live on a very hot weather about 98-108F all year round. This trimmer gets extremely hot and stops regularly at about 30-45min of non stop use. Even the lines have melted inside the string loader due to the heat. I think it also depends on what type of grass you have. This video show very light/easy to cut grass.

I got this exact trimmer as a gift 2 years ago. This trimmer has amazing power and is really good until the bump feed goes bad. When it does the whole thing is worthless because of the way it is design the bump feed can't be replaced. If your model has that red box looking piece where the shaft and the head meet, like in the video then you will be shopping once your bump feed goes bad. Happy Shopping.

No, the longevity of runtime depends on the amp-hours not the voltage

ive found with the milwaulkee powerhead if you weed whack or use the branch trimmer,you have to make sure you are not covering up the power head,it has small vents on it and if you "tuck it" under your arm as your using it it will not breath and this causes overheating issues,love milwaulkee m18 line,run the 12.0 batts and you will be a believer......

I absolutely love this Milwaukee trimmer. It is perfect for around the yard after mowing the grass. I especially like the throttle on it. It is very much like a gas-powered trimmer and allows you to control the speed by how much you squeeze the trigger. I already have multiple Milwaukee tools that run off the M18 batteries and have never had any issues with any of my Milwaukee gear so purchasing this was an easy decision for me.

Yes about 30min at most. If you live on a very hot weather the trimmer overheats and stops frequently. I use about 3 6HO batteries to do all my yard but I need to let it cool for about 45mins before the last 6HO bat.

Just bought one of these. I run it without the weed guard for trimming large areas of gravel parking lots with sparse but high weeds. Also, a string cutter wastes a lot of string. Because I let the string out a few inches longer, it does seem to cut off automatically due to overheating? If I keep the string shorter, it does much better. I also may experiment with smaller diameter line like .065. This smaller line may not be as tough, but it actually slices thru vegetation with less resistance than .080, so may work better. It has surprising power for an 18 volt battery. I also bought the leaf blower package deal. Buying an extra battery is an option but they are insanely priced. You can almost buy another trimmer that comes with a new battery? As far as durability, time will tell. I have a battery powered Echo that is till going strong after five years. The battery has gotten weaker over time of course. Echo sold out their customers and changed their battery design, so the new batteries won't fit the older trimmer, the previous blower, nor the previous chainsaw, AND they are less amp hours. The old battery was 4 amp and the newer style battery is 2.5 amp/hours For those reasons, that is why I went with a different brand.
