After 5 long months of searching for Speed Demon, with no luck, a few weeks ago, a hiker stumbled upon Speed Demon. The hiker reached out to Tucson Rocketry, which happens to be a club that a friend of mine, Bryce, is part of. Bryce recognized the rocket, and reached out to me with the Speed Demon's coordinates. I rushed back into the Aguila desert to finally recover Speed Demon. Everything still works too, cameras, flight computers, etc. Flight Data is below:
Apogee: 21,337 ft AGL
Max Speed: Mach 1.28
Motor: Aerotech M-1315
Speed Demon failed to reach 27K since the motor sat on the pad trying to pressurize for almost a minute. While the motor was trying to pressurize, lots of precious impulse was lost on the pad, rather than during flight.
This video is the completed version of the previously posted video titled "Minimum Diameter Rocket to 27K". To celebrate Speed Demon's recovery, I plan on stuffing an M2245 in it, and flying it again sometime this year.
