I would recommend everybody watching it at least a couple of times. I mean coming back every now and then, not looping it over the span of one day or sth. It is like the fifth time for me and by the end, I get to understand something new. It really makes me experience that it is a combination of both the content + your readiness to even notice certain subtleties... Not sure if it makes sense. Thanks, Aubrey, and happy Tuesday everyone

#1."As a society we're incredibly unhealthy." Isn't that due in part to the massive onslaught of the medical & pharmaceutical 'industries', over the 70+ years. I finally pulled the plug in '96, when I realized they were selling me drug without any testing, that might have been performed, for which a doctor might have a recommendation. Then the Gov steps up with Medicare, which allows people to go see doctors, who sell - probability illness, preventive medicine. People have lost any cense of their own wellness with the T.V. programming them to be sick!

56:20 - Depression is a past expression and anxiety is a future expression. Wow. I've never contextualized it that way. One thing I still have despite having figured out so many things in my life is the anxiety I still feel in my throat when I allow my mind to take over here and there still before shutting it down. THAT's what anxiety is. Holy shit. I feel like knowing this will really help me shut it down completely. Thank you for that!

Powerful distinction that Depression is a past expression and anxiety is a future expression, knowing that now you can in a quiet meditation you can close your eyes, visualize yourself going your past self and taking the energy of anxiety wherever you see or perceive it to be in your body and removing it, trhowing it in a fire pit and watching it immediately dissolve and now you see on your throat your throat a blue light glowing in it and through it and all around it then feel the love and joy inside you well up and in appreciation and gratitude you give thanks IT IS COMPLETE. This episode is transformative work. we are so blessed.

everything Peter says makes sense, and we definitely are the best at defending our blocks and failures that keep us stuck... but... when I start thinking positive about my future and the outcome I would want and make all those dreams without limitations...when they don't happen... the disappointment of failing at fulfilling it is so crushing to mu soul- my body )and my brain) will from then on do everything to protect me from that feeling ever again. How do you overcome that? I can do affirmations all day long, seven days a week... but after a week- im just gonna feel- this is stupid, it's not working, why was I so naive to even believe it? I don't know how to apply this in my own life.

I have found that, as a person who experiences emotions very intensely, I needed to initially embrace a path of "letting go of what I think I want". I did this because I realised that the only way to guarantee having everything you want is to only want what you already have. This involved seeking out the things I already had that I really enjoyed and appreciated, and it did in time create a habit of gratitude and a much more enjoyable experience of life. However, wanting to stop wanting is a want in itself 🙂 and will inevitably lead to frustration that you cannot always achieve it. I learned then to move on to another step of learning about how to be a happy human being, because of course I did still want things, I think what I learned at first was how to hold those desires more lightly...to be able to let them go easier and not be crushed by disappointment, because they are seen more as extra cherries to my life that is pudding. I still have pudding even when I don't get the cherry I aimed for 🙂

That was beautiful and true ♥️ can I add a perspective on the "melancholy" episodes that you mentioned still experiencing?..is it not just another way of saying "I should" when we experience sadness and think it's wrong? I think grief is a necessary part of ourselfs that as a society we deny, because it's painful, so we so often assume that feeling it means we have "failed" to be ok, somehow. We are "broken" because we don't feel great all the time...but grief is a release, it's a wonderful way of releasing built up tension and stress, it's an expression of finding the life struggle hard, or that you really loved something that you have lost (wether it's an idea/hope/person/physical thing) it's something that needs to be expressed. If you can accept that there's some reason you need to grieve when you start feeling that melancholy, and not go into judging yourself for feeling it, but just cry. Then you can move strait on without looking back at it and thinking "why did I fail in that moment?" Because you didn't fail...you expressed something, you released something, maybe you will figure out what it was and maybe you won't, it doesn't matter either way if you allowed yourself to express it. You listened to yourself and did what you needed to do. You don't need to be full of powerful energy all the time.

Crying here because I abuse myself the way Aubrey does- feeling like I was given two good parents, great genes, attractiveness that I feel I have to give back to humanity in order to justify my existence. In this construct I have been sliding downhill and stuck for last 10-12 years. I understand homeless people so much because I give up trying out of exhaustion. I have been applying for jobs since March and have not gotten one response and am in serious debt from taking care of my mom who had cancer and now Covid. Not looking at how I have messed up my life and have gotten disgust from my own family reflects my own confusion at how to get out of the pit I am in. I appreciate the conversation here and will look for more ways I can catch myself beating myself up. 🤦♀️

I am so glad I listen to this podcast! I have been feeling very oppressed lately mostly by the whole mask thing… And what I'm realizing is because I've been feeling oppressed I've also been feeling pretty angry And maybe taking it out on people who seem like they're causing it but maybe I need to look inward??

So good! I have the exact same feeling as Aubrey. So nice to feel into it.

Oh my God, the two of you are such a magical combo. I’ve been stuck with the same self-abusive obsession of “doing good” and this gave me a deep shift. Deep gratitude 🙏🏻❤️
