Very useful information. When I was diagnosed with Vulvadynia 19 years ago, they said it had nothing to do with stress and everything to do with oxalates. Not many in the medical community know what to do with us!

I was misdiagnosed as PCOS, going for endometriosis diagnosis and started experiencing vulvar pain and worse internal pains about 3 years ago and it hasn’t stopped. While listening to this I tried to imagine the pelvic floor relaxing and laid down. Helped my mind. Thank you for the video ❤

This is great. I’ve struggled with this for 9 years and when I picked up meditation 3 years ago to manage stress, I saw significant improvements. I still struggle with it but not nearly as much. I used to not even be able to wear jeans and now it only hurts during intercourse.

I cannot believe that WOMEN are dismissing other women's pain as LADIES ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD! OMG! Not everything is caused by a trauma and because its 'down there' it must be in our heads. BS! Whatever license you have to make up this bologna should be revoked! You should be sent back to the 1950's where you belong! If men had pain, you would never say its in their heads!
@saraashenhurst5964

She doesn’t mean in our heads as in it’s not real, the pain is real. It’s called neuroplasicity, your brain has neural pathways in which are stuck in a fight or flight response.
@thatgirlray2765
3 жыл бұрын
Actually it is in your head, but being in your head doesn’t mean it’s fake. Literally what she was saying is (in very simple terms) the brain basically thinks there’s a problem down there when there isn’t, and in turn sends pain signals there even though there shouldn’t be. Just because something is in someone’s brain doesn’t mean it’s made up The brain literally controls our sense of pain.

It's not. That's what I thought and ignored the word until literally today. This isn't about a mental state. This is about development, not limits. We're all normal, but not typical or special... We all have terrible & wonderful lives. If my nervous system is messed up, yeah, feeling pain makes sense because it's nerves. If there are some mental exercises I can do to help (along with the billion things I've tried) then why not try? I'd been doing all of these things for another (but probably related) issue and it's been amazingly healing to just accept what we can't control, but live well within the things we can. It'll get better but not by an act of God. Optimism isn't useful but hope it. Hope is a plan, but we have to figure out where we are before we can choose where to go next Edit:typo

I know how you feel, I used to feel the same way... BUT That is not what they are saying. it is a neurologic disorder, nervous tissue, neurons. Basically your nerves are interpreting normal touch as painful stimuli. Using mindful/psychological techniques can target your nervous response to anything, including pain. If you look at the concept of neuroplasticity this makes sense. Basically you can help change your nerve response with mindful techniques. It is a physical disorder where your nerves are having this response to pain, here they are suggesting psychological techniques to help treat this physical response. I hope this is helpful. I have been there telling people to f*** off when they tell me there is a psychological component, but by dismissing this I was doing myself a disservice and once I started including these concepts to my healing I saw more progress. Good luck to you and everyone dealing with this frustrating disorder. You are not alone.

Update: I spoke to my OBGYN after seeing this video. I've been practicing mindfulness "seriously" for 6 months but after 4 weeks of focus on the issue in relaxation and some other topical medications prescribed and my progress is so promising! Good days & iffy days, but much fewer bad days. So grateful
