Hi everyone! I hope this video was an interesting introduction to the upcoming game. If you want to see more, then I also have uploaded the full VOD of me playing the game for the first time! kzitem.info/news/bejne/xJ9v2Hp9mn99dYI

Yeah. Ok. I'm sold. They have my interest. Let's see more as it progresses :)

Certainly looks like an interesting ONI & Dungeon Keeper amalgamation.

I really hope they figure out a way to make the dungeons be playable, rather than automatic. It’s fine as it, but would love a little more interaction. I think its the biggest element they have that separates this from ONI.

Agree but I think it'll be difficult at this point. It would make the dungeons easier so they'd have to rebalance, plus it could end up too micro-managing there, but who knows?

I'd really like it as an option. Just like in FIFA when you can train your players automatically with chances based on their status or manually. But as said here, it would only work with a good balancing on this feature. It have to be hard enough so you'll let it happen by chance like 50% of the time Overall i think the games is already really good without it

So, this is not a sponsorship nor a promotion, but you choose to hide what you dislike about the game... I see a very obvious conflict of interest here, you're supposedly expressing your honest thoughts about the game, but you're an "official KLei ambassador".

I’m worried about the depth in building. What I love about oni is how vastly different designs you can make to accomplish the same thing. It allows for a lot of creativity. I did not see anything here like that so far, but maybe it’s just this video is too short.

I agree, and I think this may end up being fundamentally limited in the concept. Hopefully some more content gets added to help that, and it's still a fun (if shorter) play.

This is my concern too... replayability. Two ways ONI (and other games) solve this are random starting conditions and, as you say, multiple ways to solve the same problem. The tech tree I saw in the VOD has a few ways to do some things but I'm not sure whether are lateral alternatives or it's all simple linear progression.

i was skeptical about whether it could live up to oni, but im probably going to buy it anyway since they update oni for free.

Could you do another review? The game has changed a lot since last year, I am curious what are your thoughts on it now.

I haven't actually played it since, so I may have a look but I've got quite a lot in the pipeline already.

Most of Klay's games are linear, and in this game, it should also be linear. It's a linear simulation game. Oxygen Not Included excels in automation and numerical control. So what makes this game excellent? Is it the art style? A game is considered excellent when players have more paths to explore, rather than simply defeating monsters or increasing a specific element to level five.

I agree, and I don't think this currently has anywhere near the level of complexity and longevity that ONI has. Of course more content will be added to play around with, but you're probably right that it won't be able to match it. But it is a fun and interesting game to play, even if for a shorter time.

is it me or does the game look choppy overall?
@GCFungus
Жыл бұрын
So I played the game twice on 2 different sets of hardware as my newer motherboard stopped working. Unfortunately I had to record this on the older hardware, and yes when it got more towards the later end of the game as was available, it did get choppy - especially on higher speeds. That's something I really hope they can improve through optimization as even my older hardware wasn't that bad.

i am a bit concerned about fps optimization, for example i love ONI but even ONI has some fps drops sometimes I wish this game at least gives overall 30 fps even in end game but we wont know unitl the release

I agree on this point. With my better cpu and ram it was running fine (minus some lag when the students were in the dungeon), but on my older hardware it was struggling. Bear in mind it is an early playtest so I'm sure there is much improvement that can be made.

Definitely fun, and a little confusing at first but you quickly get the hang of it!
