This is my 5th tutorial, and the first one that is actually a tutorial. ALL the others have their tech trees completed (in a tutorial???) and just assume you can mine titanium etc.. Really annoying.

Yes there is a really like autistic part of the Mindustry community... I fucking love this game, but like 80% of the people who play this game do the same thing in an autistic pattern. I don't mean that to be insulting, I mean that like I think many people who play this game genuinely have autism. I don't think many of them even understand how to build properly, but they understand they can get schematics from other people. So I think they're excited enough to want to explain the game to others, but lack the cognitive function to actually look at it from an outsider perspective

btw I'm gonna try and become a mindustry youtuber soon, there's hardly any and someone needs to make even a basic tips and tricks video. Tell me what you think of some of these: 1. Don't underestimate phase conveyors. They cost very little power and materials, and they can transport materials INSTANTLY. It's currently the only way to merge 4 full conveyors into one with no slow downs. 2. Learn all the status effects. These things can be extremely powerful and tsunamis alone can cripple any army with 3 plus strong debuffs. The extra damage from stuff like blasted is really helpful. 3. Leading on from that, use good ammo. It's often cheap and ammo builds up in containers over-time, so even if its hard to mass produce (pyratite, blast compound etc) setting up a few factories and fueling your weapons with it can make a huge difference. Also the only sensible way to do enough dmg to kill aegires. 4. Its better to have a fully fueled small schem than a quarter fueled huge one. It wastes lots of space and resources building all the extra stuff. 5. Move your liquids with tanks if you can, or at least use them a good amount. They have instant movement speed and will still function if supplies get cut off, which will definitely happen in defence. 6. Use containers to fuel turrets, especially on the front line. 7. Distributors. Very sexy. 8. Try playing with little schems. It makes you a lot faster at building, planning, rerouting conveyors and such. Its also more fun and will get you ready for ranked pvp where schems usually aren't allowed. 9. Try not to use flares and unit carrying logic when you don't have to. If a single enemy gets past and kills those flares, there goes your extra defences. It also requires you to produce tons of units, and more importantly its not even possible on most maps due to limits on flare numbers. 10. For defence, get every liquid ready. Especially cryofluid. It help a ton making weapons fire faster and can work in tsunamis to both slow, reduce max hp and make blast compounds do tons of damage. 11. Due to the aegires meta, when getting turrets, try to use bigger turrets (4x4 spectres for example) rather than lots of swarmers. Aegires may be op, but if other units manage to get past plastanium walls, the aegires should deal a whole lot less damage. Also, the bigger the turret, usually the more effective anyway. They're easier to fuel and cool and deal lots of dmg. 12. SEGMENTS. With segments and plastanium walls, hardly anything gets past. Weapons that are both not energy and not projectile (t5 naval unit) don't do enough damage to brute force walls unless in numbers. It also makes toxopid completely useless - just one of these ruins the artillery. And when it gets close, it gets absolutely smoked by 4 different tsunamis and powerful close range weapons. 13. For erekir, you can use large constructors and deconstructors along with mass drivers to build a building that costs all the resources needed then desconstruct it safely to get a variety of resources. This is extremely useful in cramped defences - on smaller pvp maps, its too easy to just cut off conveyors, and while container can contain quite a bit, they will run out against tankier units. However, these mass drivers allow extremely long distance transport to fire the resources over very long distances into an armoured area of deconstructors to be used. You can also use containers, but often times it doesn't work so well. The limited storage cap and the need to then usually fire the container back makes it take more space and end up not transporting many resources. 14. Aegires are op, but there is a way to kill them faster. Use logic to get all turrets to focus fire on one aegires. Due to the fact they have much better group healing then single healing, this can help counter these ungodly things. I will make a logic processor for this and put it on the discord. Just wait. 15. It is complex, but merging multiple things onto a phase conveyor that is for both fueling unit producers and delivering items to the core can make producing these units much easier. Place a phase bride end just before the thing you need to fuel, then place another phase bridge starting next to it and take that to the core. It will act as an instant router, wont jam (as all the extra stuff in the conveyor will just be passed down onto the core) and make the unit production much cleaner. Seriously, who needs schematics with these things in the game? 16. Early game, use junctions and overflow gates instead of using conveyors to take stuff to core. A lot of people already do this, but it can make movement a lot faster and sometimes neater. 17. Yes, late game, vault your core. It helps prevent clogging, makes the area of input much larger, gives you much more space to unload from the core, and doesn't cost much. 18. Thanks for reading this huge thing, please reply and tell me if I should add anything for my video. I'll also copy paste this elsewhere.

Nice little vid buddy, with some things to touch over: Around @2:00 the volcanic terrain (vibrant glowing orange) have uses for certain Thermal items, like there is one in "Power" that generates electricity depending on the grade of the heat source. I think it generates less than some other standard ones such as steam gen, but I guess the trade off is that it doesn't require any further resources or infrastructure/space. Just plop it down and you're good to go. Could be good as an outpost or things like that which operate off-main power grid. Also don't block the path to your core. Think of it like a tower defense and you funnel enemies into a loop/zigzag of turrets blasting that choke path. As long as you leave 1 square gap on the shortest pathing for enemies to walk, they will go through that. But best to leave 3~4 sq gap later when you decide to redesign your defense so that larger units don't trample over the walls. You can place a "Door" (an actual structure that opens and closes) and if you design it well, you can open/close the door and "control" your enemies by making them go back and forth in your death path, taking way more damage from turrets and you can keep them there as long as the surrounding structures can handle the damage. Yes, the "ruins" of structures that don't belong to you (or enemy), can be deconstructed and you get a fair bit of recycled materials. This can be VERY advantageous if you got the tech unlocked and at least have a scrap source, to get minerals that aren't available on the map (like Titanium, Thorium etc). For beginners you don't have to know this, but can be useful later on... If you manage to recycle 25 Titanium, you can make I think it's called a "Separator". Pretty easy to build, then melt the scrap into slag and feed it to get basically infinite source of Titanium. And if you manage to 'additionally' recycle 70 Thorium, you can do basically the same thing but also produce rarer materials, however the infrastructure for this is more complex. Pro tip for common newbie panic situation: Manually-fed turrets. If low level enemies manage to get pass your defenses and are headed straight for your core, quickly mine copper (for land enemies) or lead (for air), and build Duos or Scatters (just 1 or 2 is fine). Build it behind your core, let the core tank the damage cus turrets die quick. Drag the items you mined; into the turrets for them to fire. Cool starter guide tho, I approve! :D

Hey, yeah it’s a mixture of capturing sectors and having the resources to pay for the tech to be unlocked. Some tech can only be unlocked by completing certain sectors (the names ones).
