That makes a lot of sense. However how can this work when there are huge miners investing billions for hash power? And the turnover on devices would mean each device gets tossed with every halving?

If you think of this as a heater, a HeatPump has a efficiency of 300/400% and this miner of around 100%. So you need 4x more energy for the same heat. The 1$ bitcoin a day wont make up for that.

So, having a system to mine BTC only sometimes, through 'air flow' is ok for cold days, but that thing should generate heat that can be stored for longer time usage. Heating 'circulating water' that heavily insulated.

An Antminer S9 from 2018 with reduced noise. An old miner and a mediocre heater. Better buy an efficient electric heater, and invest the monthly electricity savings to buy bitcoin.
@heatbit

You're talking about the first generation. Mini is the second and is completely different from the DIY approach of reusing miners. It is based on a custom plate with 5 nm chips instead of Antminer S9 plates. Mini is 10 TH/s from 400W, S9 is 13.5 TH/s from 1350W.

@@heatbit so you've replaced the S9 BM1387 chips with S19 BM1398 chips on "a custom plate"
@heatbit
4 ай бұрын
@@mattmill30 these are not chips from S19; the boards with chips installed are produced for our devices. To make it clear, there's nothing wrong with using mining chips from used miners. You'll need to have a stable supply and figure out how to deal with failures and other issues, which is not easy if you produce a lot of devices.

Well, this video makes me think over the issue of possible profit one can get by having 3 to 5 heattbits in a spacious house..$30 a piece makes $150,180 a month, that's a big deal considering environment conservation and the way you gain the money..as a by-product.

The return on investment is not even close to making this feasible. Bitcoin in its early days yes, now in order to even have a chance of minting blocks you need some of the most advanced hardware available. Even if you can buy that, the premium is going to be so high that offsetting heating cost won't even make a dent in the budget. This business seems like a scam to me
@heatbit

Miners operate within pools. When a single miner receives rewards, they are distributed among the entire pool. Consequently, you maintain a consistent income even if you haven't discovered any blocks.

@@heatbit it is my understanding that fragmented mining operations are significantly less profitable that large ones.
@heatbit
4 ай бұрын
@@jonesrdh7170 a large-scale business is more efficient because you have opportunities not available to a regular person or business. Enterprise miners have access to cheap electricity, cheaper ASIC miners, lots of free space optimized for running miners, and other benefits. Even with all this, they may go bankrupt because of risks. With Heatbit, you have free mining electricity because it's utilized for heating, and you'll use this electricity for heating even without mining. You can also find a used miner for cheaper than any enterprise miner and do just fine if your electricity rates are reasonable.
