When made ahead of time, how do you store the models and how long will they last? Thank you! Saved me so much money for my little guy's party cake.

i am sorry and i know this is too late, but i say you can make these up to a week ahead of time if you are going to eat them. if you are not planning on eating them, and store them properly, you can make them a month or so ahead of time. sorry this won't help you but maybe someone else....

Watching this from the UK and I’m a beginner but can you tell me what is gum paste please?
@CaketasticCakes
3 жыл бұрын
Sure! It is a moldable, edible paste. It can be shaped and hardens to hold its shape, but is still edible. In the UK, it is more commonly known as "modeling paste" or "flower paste". You can also use fondant for most decorations by adding CMC (or Tylose) powder to it. Does this help? Here is another video I made comparing fondant and gum paste, if you are interested: kzitem.info/news/bejne/y6eVtmFjg5Spgpw

I use wilton gel food coloring. I have an affiliate link you can use (if you want -no pressure!) www.caketasticcakes.com/p/tools.html Steve's colors are - brown, black, blue, sky blue, ivory and peach. The pants are blue, shirt is sky, skin is a mix of ivory and peach, hair is brown, eyes are blue and white, shoes are a little black with white to make gray. Creeper is leaf green and black. I also use Atico food coloring markers to make the marks on both of them. I hope this help!
