The point of the video is to point out that as a customization option, the trims should inherently have a reasonable option to remove them. I don’t consider retrimming them with an item of the same material as the armor to be removing the trim- nor do I consider it reasonable as it’s very expensive, depending on the armor. Additionally, I bring up mods not being viable as they are not accessible to everyone in the community. I brought up Bedrock Edition because that is where this applies. I’ve had somebody mention a specific add-on website, but it only works with Bedrock for phones and Windows 10, meaning it is not accessible for the entirety of the Bedrock community. I hope that clears things up a bit better!

TBF not being able to remove them makes sense because Trims re just that... trims. Arnour is trimmed off and the hole is filled with different materials.

I suppose it makes sense from a realism standpoint, but we’re talking about a game with made up creatures like the shulker. Not everything needs to or should follow the way it would work in real life, imo.

Trims are an excellent addition and I don't mind that there's no remover atm since I've been fine with the trims I select and know they're more permanent. In the video you indicated there's no way to remove the trims but at 1:42 you had the armors in the wrong order. I tested in creative just now, I had a fully enchanted armor piece with the trim in the right slot and a normal equipment in the left slot. It retains the enchantments but removes the trim. Good video, hope to hear more from you from a fellow small creator. :)

They should make it that if you put an already trimmed item alone in a smithing table, it should remove the trim and give you back the mineral and the template

I wouldn't say this is a "HUDE" problem but sure it would be useful if they added a remover.

It isn’t if you don’t really care about removing trims, but that’s something that’s important to me

I hadn't realized that trims couldn't be removed, you're right they definitively need to have that functionality. As for the current trimming possibilities, I do love them, they are one of the best features from recent years as they actually allow for infinite custom armor, no, not armor styles, armor, such as fully cobblestone armor, emerald, copper, and so on, using datapack-resourcepack combos you can add what ever you like WITHOUT replacing anything and that's the big one for me, not having to remove stuff, also once 1.20.5/(1.21) rolls around we might get NBT(Component) crafting recipes in the regular crafting table, Yay no more weird renamed barrels that glitch out and delete stuff! I know you said that you don't use mods, but I figured this was still worth mentioning. P.S. I saw SilentHunterX's comment, I'm too lazy to change my initial "I agree" ness.

It’s good to have the information available for those who do use mods, so thank you for sharing!

I haven't had an issue because I know the armor trims well but I can see removing them would be great.

put a netherite ingot in every piece with a trim that barely covers any parts of the armor and it’ll look like it’s clean. also are you sure you not liking the trimmed look isn’t just because of nostalgia and because trimmed armor isn’t something you’re used to? try different trim designs and colors. I’m sure you’ll find something you like!

To your first suggestion (I’ve answered that one quite a bit), it’s just not the same and far too expensive. To your second point: I really like the trims, don’t get me wrong, I’ve always just preferred a simplistic and cleaner look. There’s always some level of nostalgia that plays into wether you like/dislike new things, but that’s just my preference. I don’t think the trims look bad, I just like the armor more without them, and even if I didn’t, there should be an accessible/reasonable method of removing them.

1:19 The Marketplace doesn't have mods. They recently added behaviour packs which many people like myself call mods but by that logic than non-console bedrock devices have been able to use them for ages.

It’s a bandage solution that doesn’t really fully achieve the desired solution while also still being too expensive. There need to be an efficient way of removal- but thank you for bringing this up!

i mean im not certain but, placing a trim using a nethrite ingot would remove the purple color and replace it with black. perhaps that would suit you better. Its expensive as well but eh, if you want it removed i doubt you wouldnt go and mine for nethrite.

I actually have extra ingots, it’s just not worth using on something like that. There needs to be a reasonable way to remove the trims. (Also, using the same material as the armor for the trim wouldn’t remove the trim- it would still show with the enchantments, and I believe would still be somewhat visible on the armor.)

What you said about the bedrock community is false, theres mods (addons) in a website called mcpedl, the marketplace isnt the only place to get mods, so please don't be misinformed about Bedrock it's actually a huge problem in the community.

I did do a search before hand and everywhere I looked it said the Bedrock Edition can’t be modded, instead having “add-ons”, which I am led to believe ARE different than the traditional mod. It also looks like MCPEDL is exclusively for mobile and Windows 10 versions of Bedrock- meaning it is not widely accessible to the whole of the Bedrock community. Thanks for bringing this up regardless, it might be useful for mobile players who are looking to get into mods.
