Great video! I was at an 1833 church but the front yard was undetectable because of electrical interference. My numbers were just rolling. Thank you and I’m glad you like the video. Try going back with your sensitivity levels set a little lower as well as try to run in a single frequency. If you can switch between the single frequencies and find one that is running quiet instead of falsing.... You may be able to turn the sensitivity up more than running in Multifrequency. Good luck at your church site sounds exciting

Thank you Mopar monster, I try to do my best with these videos and I enjoy doing them. Lately I’ve been having troubles finding sites that are moist enough to actually dig in without killing the yard. This past Sunday I went out but after being there for about an hour I headed home. I’m glad that what I’m doing on here has a positive impact and I will continue doing as I have been. Once the rains begin in the ground moistens back up I’ll be out making a video about one a week or more. For now I’ve just been dealing with the transmission that one out of my truck and it’s kind of upsetting as well as very expensive. Thank you for tuning in to check out the videos and thank you for your kind comments.

Kenny, According to one Equinox engineer, EMI is the silent performance killer. "Noise Cancel often." Looks like you pulled off a stellar hunt under very difficult EMI conditions. Oh, and thanks for covering the correct way to replace a plug. The zip-tie method will help me keep those hard-earned permissions. The tie-in to your last video was complete and very much appreciated. Keep up the great work!
@squarenailsquirrel9638
5 жыл бұрын
Yes Howard EMI Really messes up a hunt If not managed correctly. It seems that on every site that I’ve been to that has been hunted before, directly under the powerlines is where all the good finds are. I just try my best under those conditions and see what comes up. I figured since I had been out to that site a few days earlier and it has been really hot out, That I would share how my plug survive through the techniques that I use. I have had a lot of people get on here and tell me how terrible of a plug that I did because it’s not a three sided plug. Someone made that three sided plug thing up about 10 years ago and told everybody about it now everybody believes it. Sure, it’s a great technique but it’s all about keeping up moisture in the ground and not so much cutting three sides and ripping one. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video and I hope you’re out doing some hunting as well.

Kenny, I hunt with a Fisher F-5 and I dig with a serrated right edged Fiskars tool much like a Lesche (sp). When I bought it, it had that exact notch In the tip that you mentioned. I found it too difficult to dig with so I modified it by grinding it away and giving It a sharp rounded tip. Keep the great vids coming, I look forward to them weekly!

Thank you for the info and I didn’t know that there was a digging tool out there already with the notch. I might try putting a hook tight notch on the side of my digger and see how that works. I can see just like you explained that having the notch at the tip would make digging somewhat hard. I like fisher machines And have always had an interest to purchase one and start using it. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video intercom meaning it’s very helpful.

Yes switching from multi to single Will help out in high EMI situations. Whenever you do get into that situation try switching between Each one until you find the one that’s quietest. The only problem with that is if it’s the 40 kHz that’s the quietest you’re going to miss out on any high tones just because it’s geared towards the low tones or low conductors like gold. I’ve only ran my equinox in single frequency a couple times, the performance great

I’m glad you like the videos I try my best with them. Metal detecting is a great hobby but it comes with challenges so be ready for those. There are a lot of metal detecting videos out there that only show the good without any of the bad or challenges. Take your time with whatever machine you end up buying and learn all the settings and what they are actually Doing whenever you change them. Any machine out there is going to do the job it was designed to do and it is up to the operator to get skilled enough utilizing the machine to speak its language and find what they are looking for. If you decide to go with the equinox it is a great machine and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it the whole time I’ve owned it. It’s took me about six months to save up enough money to get one, just make sure to call a dealer that sells them before you make a purchase online over a website that deals Metal Detectors. The price difference between a small dealer and a big website is quite a difference

Thank you and I am glad that you enjoy the videos. I have not been able to hunt along Lake Erie but I do have a permission on a beach up there that is private. That is great that you found a shielded nickel, those are always fun to find. I have found on those coins that the date is typically always missing but at least you know a date range so you can know more about the site that you are digging. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video and good luck with any hunts that you have coming up

Great video and good hunt. The vanquish I herd was going to be a lower price machine like the garret 400. That should be a great detector for beginners. Keep up the good work and good luck on next hunt. I’m looking forward to next video.

Thank you, this was a fun hunt but it was also a really hard hunt due to all the noise and EMI. As more information comes out on the vanquish I’ll continue to draw a conclusion on if I’m going to get one or not, but for now I plan on going ahead and getting one. I seem to always go for the top machines by price when there’s a lot of other really nice machines that cost half The price. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video.

Thank you and glad you like the video. Yes the multifrequency machines are great but it’s always nice to have a single frequency around. Between my Whites V3i and the equinox I have learned a lot about the capability of a multi frequency machine and high EMI sites. I’m really not for sure where I will end up next with whatever machine I will get it but I’m trying to get another single frequency to replace my single frequency MX sport. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video as well as commenting.

There have been a couple places I've hunted with the 800 that the EMI almost drove me insane lol. Still had my best hunt two days ago in one of those spots. Double IHP day and 5 Wheaties. Thanks for sharing your hunt and finds. Take care.

I have ran into a couple places that the EMI has been really bad. Seems that I can manage to EMI a lot better with the equinox than I can with the V3i. Even if the sensitivity is not set up around 20 or 21, more like somewhere around 14 or 15, I still get really good performance out of the equinox. That’s awesome You pulled to Indian cents And wheats out of a spot like this. Congrats on that. Glad to see you’re still out hunting in this heat. I’m not hurting as much lately but I’m trying my best due to the heat as well as dry yards. Thank you for watching the video and good luck with any hunt you have coming up

@@squarenailsquirrel9638 , I hear you about the heat and it's been dry here also so I'm staying out of yards and park areas until we get rain again. I won a detector from Adventure Archeology which is a Fisher F75 to complement my 800. Looking forward to learning it and comparing. Take care.

If you look at the video Vanquish part 3 it shows the control panel face (that is the whole video). It has the frequency symbol for multi Freq. So it must be a multi freq machine. I will be curious to see more details about freqs, and how it compares to the Equinox. Great video.

Thanks Sam, I haven’t seen that video three of the vanquish yet. If it shows the multi frequency signal then it must be a multi frequency machine. It would be nice if they had another multi frequency which had totally different frequency kilohertz. Even if it’s not a single frequency I’ll probably still get it. So far I have nothing but praise for what Minelab Produces. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video as well as commenting.

Thank you. Typically only in the summertime do I get in yards that have standing houses on them, most of the time I’m only in farm fields where the house fell down in the 1800s. Sometimes landowners or a little odd but I’ll do anything and deal with anything just to be able to dig in the yard that’s interesting. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video And good luck out there metal detecting.

I actually had two other digs with it that I didn't show.. same result. I'm not sure why it was sounding off like that on this site where typically I get some kind of warning it's big iron. I'm to the point where I only use the MX Sport out in farm fields hunting buttons since it does good with those. Thanks for checking out the video.

You’re welcome and I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. It’s a pleasure to take everyone along with me on these hunts through making these videos.You are very correct anytime you find anything that’s cool like a coin, especially a silver coin, it’s an awesome day out in the field. I like to find coins but I also like to find about anything else as long as it’s not clad. After about the fourth or fifth piece of clad I typically move to another part of the yard, it’s just the way that I’ve been since I started Metal Detecting. Thank you for tuning in to check out the video.

A little silver, some wheats and a few relics I would say you did great! Did you ever use the Garrett machines? I have had a Whites dfx and now the Garrett at max. I would take the Whites back any day. I guess I will ask Santa for a equinox this year to try out.

I was glad to hit the silver. There’s still quite a bit of stuff that can be found in the yard but I think I’m going to Move on because of the EMI. I have not used any Garrett machines Over the years but I have had an interest to use them. One of my friends about 10 years ago had a Garrett and they enjoyed it. Most all of the people I watch on KZitem use Garrett machines so I kind of feel like I can use one by watching them.

Good stuff! Nice finds on the silvers, and the spill. You ever tried running 10khz under harsh emi conditions? A guy I work with told me he remembers spending wheats all through the 60’s and some of the 70’s. Great to see a new video from you. I haven’t been getting out as much as I usually do with work and being so busy, but hey I might even pick up the vanquish when it comes out with all this OT money 😂😂
@squarenailsquirrel9638

Thanks Adam. I have tried to switch to single frequency a couple times and I run in the one that’s typically not affected most by EM I and not the frequencies targeted for gold like the 40 kHz. I just pick the one that’s the quietest and run with it and it seems to do good but the machine does act differently. I’m so used to running the V3i that when faced with EMI issues I just have to turn the machine down very low, I need to start remembering that I have a Minelab now. 🙂 I haven’t been hunting as much as I usually do either, it’s hot in the ground is dry. I just scored a really good site to metal detect, So I might get out a couple times after work this week because this week and I’m going to Pennsylvania to Metal Detect. Maybe in the fall you and I can hook up and go somewhere to detect, I’m hoping to have quite a few fields to hunt this winter. I hope all is well and don’t work too hard

You can manually change frequencies. It isn't good for all scenarios but 40kh is much more quiet
@squarenailsquirrel9638
5 жыл бұрын
Yes I change into single frequency quite a bit to test and see which actual frequency is being affected by EM I. I also check on Questionable targets which frequency is actually reading the best to make a better judgment on what the target might be. I have noticed that the 40 kHz does good on very small gold targets and rings out ultra loud on nickels and low conductors.

Nice hunt SNS.. I know of a farm house built in 1800 buy a Banker named Ash Conklin in Delaware Ohio... I grew up in this house owned by my Grandparents. The are gone now and its own by a family. Sadly I live in Kaliforniastan since 1969 and I know I'll never be able to hunt it... Maybe if you pm me you for the address and you can ask the family to hunt it... I can tell you were the Clothes line, Barn, and parties were at on the property... I think your in Pennsylvania.. so not too far of a drive.. I would like some momento of the find though.. like a coin... also union soldiers were bivouac on the bottom land of the property at one time... Just a thought....

Are you sure the Vanquish will be a single frequency machine? I've seen at many places that it could be a simultaneous multi frequencies but at low-mid price range.
@squarenailsquirrel9638
5 жыл бұрын
No I am not sure that it is a single frequency machine. Since I have made this video it has been brought to my attention that there is a third video on the vanquish which shows the control panel and a multi frequency setting. The vanquish seems to be very elusive and mysterious with all the ads that I have seen. I know the answer fine and it builds up the hype but it really makes it hard for people trying to make the decision If they want to buy one or not. Gets confusing at times.
