Have you ever prayed for something really hard?
Were all the prayers answered like you had wanted?
How does it make you feel if you pray for something and you don’t feel like you’re getting an answer?
Today we will learn from one of Jesus’ many parables. (Luke 18:1-8)
Jesus wants to encourage us that we should always pray and not give up
In this parable, Jesus is comparing God to the judge
God is always good.
God cares about us
It is impossible for God to be mean. He never pushes us away when we ask him for things.
He will see that we get justice, and quickly.
Yes, God is always fair.
God never wears out when we come and ask him.
God wants us to come to Him and keep asking Him for things.
He doesn’t want us to give up.
Another title of this story is called “The Persistent Widow”
What does “Persistent" mean?
You never give up. Keep doing it
Jesus is encouraging us not to lose heart. Don’t be discouraged.
Keep asking God what is on your heart.
We must persist in faith.
Faith and persistence go hand in hand.
If we have faith in God, that we believe God cares about us,
He knows what is best for us, His ways are higher,
we will persist in praying and not give up.
When Jesus returns, will you be trusting in him?
Will you pray to the end and never give up?
