Yes, the full grapple is still much nicer than this. Easier for full length logs. The ‘open ends’ of the grapple will be better than the closed ends of the bucket. This is not intended to be a negative comment about the add-a-grapple, as it would be helpful too! Maybe you need both! Remember, the 3rd function valve you add will work with both of them.

The tree cutter was way too expensive, but still could be very useful. The grapple was at a decent price, but I think I'd rather go for a separate implement instead of going for an all-in-one approach. I'd say the best was definitely the last. Hydraulic hoses always seem to be getting caught in areas that could ruin them, and the spring would still allow them to flex some in extreme cases. Overall I'm very impressed with the products he had. Hopefully they do well so that the prices can decrease a bit.

The grapple is certainly cheap enough, but I think personally I would rather have a actual grapple and keep my bucket a bucket. I will pass on this one.. You don't want to use something like this on your compact tractor unless you have a full hard cab on the thing.. Cutting trees is super dangerous and while cutting one branch you could very well knock off another that comes right down on top of the driver.

If you use the grapple to pick up stuff can’t you just use 2 hydraulic lines? Up down for bucket and open closed for the grapple? I mean you don’t really need dump the bucket right? Or will the bucket fall down to the dump position if not hooked up? I mean I would spend the 695$ today on the grapple but adding a hydraulic line funds pricey for just the ability to dump the bucket with the grapple.
