I've since fitted JCW 380CC injectors and an optimised bypass valve for the supercharger purchased on eBay(Rooster Racing) . Now think it needs a map as it's harder to start, over fuel ....but i think that will be the cherry on the top of what is a bloody good setup. I don't think it needs anything more as sometimes it can just becomes an endless quest.....I'm hoping for an honest 200+ hp once mapped.....the handling is where it's at with them,just fitted Tein springs, polybushing, braces and spaces plus a larger ARB at the rear.....with updated brakes too. Needs setting up as the Geometry looks very negative camber wise at the rear but initially the results are very impressive for grip.....balance? I need it a bit warmer to really test the rear end which I'm trying to make as solid and unlikely of lift off oversteer as possible which I'm expecting it to be prone too now it's stiffer. Also, try an electronic throttle controller.....it feels like gaining 20bhp with the sharpness....they well worth it. Good luck with build👊

Thanks for sharing this friend! Which ebay selller you got the intercooler from..??? I got mine from eBay too but it requires modifications because the pipe inlets doesn’t align. Thanks in advance bro..!

Sorry for late reply. I got it from a company in Australia called AlloyWorks.. I've heard that MTC do an ok 61mm intercooler too,with the boots. The connection holes at the front break after a few weeks but the trumpets hold it tight. I don't have any leaks with it..but I did get screwed for import duty which the buggers never mentioned in the auction.

The parts are all available on good old eBay...the heat shield is the rainbow coloured option, about £13 , lots on there and is cut down underneath so it is basically open on three quarters....breath nicely underneath and to right with the air flute still feeding it some air from the remains of the filter box. The cone is nothing special....eBay again less than £10.....red to match the filter shield.Its not an Injen item...but they do intake products so I used there branding to add some under the hood bling( 😜) the intake neck is again on eBay....under R53 intake I would guess.....put together they all look quite neat under the hood....power wise? Well, who knows.....but sounds awesome!👊

Yeah buddy I've heard that they don't do speed very well there do they. I'm sure you could sneak in a few crafty mods though that they can't see 😜

what was your budget with car + upgrades if you don't mind me asking? Whats the reliability like after these upgrades? Im thinking of downgrading from my 350z as its costing me too much and i could easily buy a car and do these mods with the cash i get from the Z.

Hiya bud. I guess a thousand pounds. I've since fitted an optimized bypass valve to the supercharger and 380cc injectors. From what I've heard they run just fine with the cat in place,17% pulley seems the sweet spot but change the intercooler and correct the plugs for sure....exhaust is a must for raw sound and do the Dave F style airbox mod by cutting into the plastic bulkhead to open up another air feed.id also recommend a throttle controller which feels like 20bhp with the sharpness it gives. Reliability seems ok....it will give you 200bhp or as near as dammit, the engines are by all accounts tuf as anything, can handle 300bhp with ease.... gearbox on the early cars are weaker than the 6speeds later cars. You won't be disappointed....the handling is good as standard but throw a thousand at that too( research what works) and you,ll have a very serious road car that will embarrass alot of expensive kit...hope that helps

I paid 2500 for my car a year ago but you can pay 1500ish, depends on alot of factors....later model facelift spec seems to be the model where they sorted a few issues. JCW cars can be a bit overpriced, 300 pounds on a pulley reduction and budget intercooler can make a standard R53 nearly as quick if not as quick, 👊

@@BKPCgaming I push it hard... gearboxes are a bit notchy by design....quite easy to crunch gears Had a few issues but nothing more than what I would call regular second hand car related. The later face lift cars have a supercharger with Teflon coated blades and make 7bhp more..also try to find a car with the factory LSD....not all have them.

Also with the bolt on mods you list you not even close to 200 bhp trust me bro I have 15 percent pully all the mods you listed plus fitted more efficiently not being harsh when I say that the air filter is not effective like this at long distances the cooler is not sealed to the hood when hood is down. You need at least bigger injectors and a bigger cam and a tune along all the mods you listed to even get to 200. And a exhaust and manifold pref

Thankyou for commenting...yes,the airfilter was probably more about the sound....watch it again....I do say that.the wall at the back of the engine bay I removed so it had another cold air entry point into the bay..,.it will work atleast as good as the old box, and sounds great. It had an exhaust fitted,listen again and the manifold I left in because the standard cat is actually very good,do your own research. As for intercooler...,.the intake charge was way cooler over standard...I did fit a black cat sealer anyway after this vid....but it worked way better than the standard one. And as for power.....I've since had JCW injectors fitted which it didn't really need without a cam but they were available, plus an optimised BPV ,it runs even better. Not even close you say to 200bhp? Well that's your opinion....the 17° pulley alone makes a huge difference. When I get the map sorted I,ll let you know,the map is not required if honest in this state of tune,will only gain a couple of bhp if any but will smooth it out and help on fueling but it will give it completion .you don't need a Cam to get 200....I know plenty who have over that figure without one,trust me!

Your motor must be buggered if your not close to 200 with those mods😂, should be about 230 with a cam, exhaust system and tune, then should be close to 270 with a bvh and bigger injectors.
