I know you posted this vid a long time ago. But I am very new to sewing and made a mini ironing board. Only thing different is a wrapped a piece of cardboard with tinfoil then put it on a board and wrapped the whole thing! It is beautiful! Thank you so much! All of your video's are easy to understand and follow

Your tutorials are always great! The best part is you never assume we know little details like staple size and type of batting. You carefully repeat and show a few times so we never miss important steps. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. You are the best!

Thanks for sharing all your projects. Now i need to share something I just stumble across a few days ago. I was replacing my ironing board cover (full size) but wanted to keep the portion at the square end. My thought was to lay it over the new cover for protection when applying fusables. After removing the old cover, I was able to salvage (and cut) about 18"-20" X the width of the ironing board cover. OMG! What an ideal cover to use to cover a portable board like you just demonstrated. For my purpose i just had one seam to finish because the three uncut sides already have binding applied. Lets face it, this end of most ironing boards go untouched! My particular cover already had the batting attached. I absolutely love my "new", repurposed, ironing board cover for "sticky" jobs. And i think it would be ideal to cover a small board. Happy pressing!

This is exactly what I need near me when I am sewing so I don't have to go back and forth to my big ironing board. Letting it out everytime I get ready to sew and finding a spot for it and my sewing machine tends to be worrisome. I am glad that I ran across this video. This is awesome. Great ideal. Thank you!

Hi Gemma, I live in the UK and have been a BIG fan of your channel for a couple of years. Not made anything yet (I'm a lazy moo!) but bizarrely I do have a staple gun so ur tutorial for making an ironing board will be my first project. Thank you so much for being so enthusiastic and making ur tutorials so fun to watch. God bless x

I believe you can replace the puzzle with cardboard. If you cut two pieces and rotate one of them, so the ripples in the middle don't face the same way. It will make the cardboard more sturdy. Of course you need the batting too. Just a tip if you don't have an old wooden puzzle handy 😊🌸🌸 PS you can even put a strap in one corner if you want to hang it on a pegboard or similar.

This is great! I'm preparing to make napkins with mitered corners that you showed on a different video and I saw how handy your table-top ironing board was. I have some pallet wood that I'll put together to make a couple of sizes, and I don't have batting but I do have some old towels (we're in the middle of a stay-at-home order, and getting supplies right now is challenging, and could take weeks if delivered). You could use some plywood from the hardware store. But make sure it doesn't have any chemicals that could give off toxic fumes when heated with the iron. Or look around your house for another similar piece of solid wood that hasn't been treated. :)
