Hi all I hope my video has assisted. I have since found yet another leak! This time I have noticed that the water tracks in through the top door seal. However it doesn’t drip from this point, instead it tracks down the inside if the rubber and subsequently drips into the footwell. The fix is to remove the seal and apply some silicone sealant around the whole seal then reassemble. It’s dry again now, so back to enjoying the car again👍

“Ditto here”. I’m sure as a result, condensation was an issue and getting over the frustration with those humid windows was anything but pleasant. Saved every a trip to BMW. “Much obliged for passing on the info partner”. “Respect for the intensive research too”👍🏼

Excellent information, in North America, Mini has issued a recall to repair / replace the FRM3 module. Which is located in the mirror location of the fuse distribution panel. I quested why is only one side of vechile covered under the recall when the Left and Right sides are symmetrical. Capillary action on the loom tape. Thank you kindly :)

Same thing - 2014 countryman SD. I thought it is through the door sills.

Hi Chris! I replaced my sunroof drain hoses before watching your video, and my 2012 R60 is still leaking . . . looks like this is why! Unfortunately the US dealers couldn't find the black loom cover in your video. . . . would you happen to have a part number or website we can reference? I may have to order that part from the UK or Germany. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey, no sorry I don’t have the part number for it. It didn’t need replacing. Just drying out and re-looming with some waterproof tape.

So out of interest, would this go some way to explaining why the R60 Countryman steams up so badly? I’m not using the car much these days, thought there was a bit of a strange smell but the carpets are all dry. Will try and lift up

Most probably. It’s well worth lifting the plastic inner sill cover and push you fingers under the carpet and into the spongy underlay. You could actually hear mine sloshing when pulling away or braking.

How do you remove the inner sills to get to the carpet?

You need to unbolt the lower seatbelt mount first but be careful not to allow it to roll back. Pull away the rubber door seal then the inner sill cover can be pulled away. It’s held in place with spring clips. It feels scary at first, but be confident and it will come come away. Good luck
