Excellent video! I do variations of this myself. Very light and fast, as you point out.

Great demonstration. I just want to point out that the limiter knots does not provide redundancy if the sling were to break on the outside of one of the knots since dynema will slip easily. Considering how strong the configuration is I don't know if that should be a concern, but good or at least interesting to know anyway. I found another video demonstrating it here, it puts the quad itself at 40kN and then the knot slips at 2kN: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1J6bnqp-anZ0dYo

Interesting to know for sure! Thanks for the link to the other video, that seems like a cool channel... I love watching slings blow up in slow-motion!

This is a very nice video, compact, to the point, and shows a good technique. Nice bonus that it can also serve to extend your rappel. One question/comment, I have tried to do this with the skinny Mammut 120 cm sling, and I just can’t make it work. Tying the two overhand knots takes up so much cord I’m only left with like a 3 inch portion to equalize. It seems like a 240 cm sling would work much better for this. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for the comment! Longer lengths definitely work but are a little to long to double as a rappel extension. As I mention in the written post that goes with the video I had to tie the BD sling perfectly to get it work, and that length offered plenty of travel for typical two-bolt spaced anchors or 3 point gear anchors when getting creative.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. The carabiners dont care how fast you use them...
