"Mini Tornado" Spooks Customers at Welsh Pub 🌪️🍻
CCTV footage captured the moment a 'dust devil' sent customers running at the Begelly Arms in Pembrokeshire on Sunday afternoon, May 19.
In the clip shared by the pub, a man and woman are seen fleeing from a swirling cloud moving rapidly from the car park towards the building. Another man dashes to save his drink from being toppled over.
The Met Office confirmed that what appeared to be a "mini tornado" was actually a dust devil, also known as a 'willy willy'. Unlike tornadoes, dust devils form from the ground up due to rising warm air and are far less powerful.
Pub owner Peter Adams described the scene: "It was a sunny, still day with no wind at all, and the dust devil came out of nowhere. My wife and I were having a quiet drink when we heard a car alarm go off, looked round, and saw the swirling mass moving towards us."
He added, "I've never seen one like that before. It was quite strange to watch." 🌪️
