These are great! I've made some molds & then used hot glue to cast as well. One thing I've done to try to prevent gaps in the more detailed molds is if the mold is oven safe I will fill the mold part way with the hot glue then put it into the oven (at whatever temp my glue sticks melt) for about 5 minutes (the time can vary) I keep doing it until the mold is filled completely. It really melts into the details so well!! If you want to color the glue... sharpies work great for transparent things like soap.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned (or if you've found out since making of this video) - UV resin will not work with the kind of silicon you're using to make the mold. If you want to use UV resin in mold, it needs to be a transparent silicon to allow all the light through.

Thanks Cheri!! I didn't say how long I baked it because it really depends on which clay you decide to use. I am using Sculpey III which I bake for 20 mins at 275. You can make a little aluminum foil tent to put over your bakes to keep it from darkening... I hope that helps! I do sell a few little things (my website is in the description) but someday I hope to sell whole scenes like this Coffee Shop ;) Someday!

@BentleyHouseMinis
5 жыл бұрын
No problem. The general rule is to bake 15 or 20 mins per 1/4" thick. So if your piece is 1/2" thick you need to bake for 30 or 40 mins. If you are baking for longer definitely put a bit of foil over your pieces to help it from discoloring. It doesn't matter how many you have in the tray... they will all bake the same ;)

THAANKS ARA now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day! 😂 I'm really digging the hot glue casting; it would make some cool ghosts! :D

There could be worse songs stuck in your head lol.... While working on this I looked up the original music video.... I laughed SO HARD! You should give it a watch! I had the same idea... I was going to make a mould for when I made Zero for my nightmare before Christmas video and cast him in hot glue but I ran out of time and just had to do clay. But they would be cool!

I just love your work and attention to detail. I get teased all the time because I'm so picky about detail, but watching you makes me feel justified. Your detail and size consistency are amazing.

Thank you Teresa! Miniatures are all about the detail so not sure how you could not pay attention to detail! It's a must! 💕😁 Being picky is the sign of a great miniaturist!
