Coming from an 80s 3 wheeler kid, the main advice on a trike is keep your feet on those pegs at all cost. The tires will climb up the back of your leg and make your knee caps the new contact patch. That's why nerf bars and the mesh nets became popular.

That's pretty sweet guys.A 2nd set of axle bearings closer to the wheels will make is solid enough for hard trail rides.

Nice build. If planning to do some off-road riding I suggest adding more support for the rear axle and moving those foot pegs forward 3 or 4 inches. Nothing like getting your ankle tore up by the cvt from bump. Especially when you're foot wear has strings and not straps!

1) those differentials are not designed for loads and need bearings at the ends and at the diff or they snap. 2)the rear brake won't work when placed on the diff... The rear brake needs to be placed at each wheel

Technically yes the brake will work where they have it. Not so well in a corner, but going straight yes. Also when taking off and braking it's actually loading the spider gears in the differential, so I say meh, its all good. Lol

I put a P100 diff on my 1800W power wheels build (soon to be double that). Though my variant has a 3/4" axle, but was able to get it under $100. I did also but a disc brake on either side of the diff, so I have differential braking. Awesome (interesting) trike build!

Neat build. I'm not sure about the cage style recoil starter mount though. An air cooled engine depends on the shroud to direct the air flow generated by the flywheel through the cooling fins. Take that forced airflow away and you are really at risk of overheating the engine.

You need to move the foot pegs foreword! The way your feet are on them now, your toes are super close to the ground! If your toe catches the ground, it could pull it under the foot peg and shatter your ankle!

In my opinion a traditional 3 wheeler has a solid rear axel so when you corner you can get it on 2 wheels and ride it like a motorcycle yea a dif helps at slow speeds but you lose that benifit when under power in a corner because your inner tires just free spind because of no load but a cool build as always

move the brake disk to the wheel and add a second to the other side controlled by a second lever, this would allow you to control the speed of each wheel independently of one another for sharper turns and a more interesting ride!

A fuel tank from 5" tubing, with a tunnel in it from 2" tubing cut in half, with a strap across the bottom, to mount, with rubber around the tube , for extra support, , maybe cut the seat end of at about a 22°-45° angle, with a 1/8 npt, for a 3/16- 1/4" valve and barb fitting, at the rear on one side, maybe both sides to get the fuel from both sides, possibly put the tunnel in shallower on the front end, to make it look better, and help fuel distribution to both sides of the tank, 5"-6" dia, with about 10"-12" in length, should hold enough fuel! With a 1.5"-2" bunch and fill cap,. I also have a old 80cc Suzuki bike missing parts , but in good shape, I'm thinking about making a trike from, being a I have a small 4wheeler axel, that would fit size wise, and it needs a rear wheel! It could be fun!! Put a 420cc engine on it, maybe a 212-224, use the old engine as a transmission!

That diff isn't going to last long. Back in the day I had a Bulldog with that diff and even though that design had PROPERLY located bearings and brakes, the bushings failed. Also with the Bulldog the rider sat low so in theory the diff made more sense than here, where the rider sits high and can easily take the load off the inside tire. You guys are just copying the common narrow-spaced axle bearings without knowing why. Come to think of it, I don't know why ANY application would use narrow-spaced support bearings vs wide-spaced.
