PACK-n-PLAY - Minimalist 2nd opinion. We used this instead of a crib. Smaller, more multi-purpose and Much Cheaper. After about 9 months, we put her on a futon on the floor. You can’t fall off the floor! Your child may be into death-defying stunts and a crib might actually be an increased risk if they like to try and jump out of it.

***If you live in a smaller home or don’t have a lot of space, the pack and play is PERFECT.*** My baby is 15 months old and we’ve been using it since the day he came home from the hospital. He’s never slept in it but we used it as a changing station until he outgrew the bassinet part (15 pounds). After that we started putting him in the bottom part with toys. We still do this when we need to get something done, especially since he has outgrown the activity center and swing. That being said, it’s crazy how every baby (and parent) is different because I had the opposite reaction to almost every item in this video.

I have had two babies and pretty much agree with you. But have to comment that infant carseat is always better and safer for an infant. And you can always sterilize things by boiling them so you don't really need all those microwave sterilising kits. And if you are pumping, you don't need to sterilize all the parts after every use if you can keep them in fridge in a bowl of water.

100% agree about the car seats. I like having multi-purpose items, but I really enjoyed being able to take the baby’s car seat out and let them stay asleep when they were a newborn. Also, I’m due with my third any time, and you definitely get more used to what you need! I never wanted a ton, but I pretty much know exactly what I need now. Of course each baby still has preferences (like you mentioned the Mamaroo vs a swing, etc.) but I don’t have as much guessing now. This will be the first time I’m trying the manual pump like the Haaka one though, so we’ll see! Unrelated to the video, but I just wanted to say I think you’re really pretty! Gender-neutral, simple, cheap! I'm seriously considering clothing my boys and girls infants in those 1800s white cotton robes 🤣🤣

I would love to know how you phrased on the baby shower invite that second hand gifts are appreciated if you are able to find the same item elsewhere!

Thanks for this video. I have one of those squeeze spoons and I love it for travel! I can easily feed baby with one hand and put the spoon away for later if she doesn't finish. Question, what happens if you get duplicates of baby books and they've already been written in?

@@heyshayla true, but don’t they already have a message written in there for your baby? That’s why I didn’t do the book thing.

Hahaha hemorrhoids and pregnancy is a thing. I just did a video on what happens after birth. My friend said she learned sooo much from it.

I absolutely loved the Medela sanitizing bags with my 2nd kid. Now I am expecting my 3rd in a few weeks and when I went to add them to my registry, I actually found a silicone reusable sanitizing bag from Evenflo. Bought it and used it today and I highly recommend!

Hey i just watched this video and it was super helpful but the link to the registry includes items you didn't like such as Mamaroo, is there a link to just the items you do recommend?
@heyshayla

Yeah I included them because every baby is different and you really just have to experiment

Just get a carrier where your kid can go on your back. You had so much stuff for a minamilist ... I'm not a minimalist and I'm sure I had less than you.
