Minimalist shoes are the way! Nice find! I like the look of these . I have a 2 pairs of Lems boulder boots. Best things I’ve put my feet in. However they are terrible in icy slippery conditions. Lems recently released their Boulder Summit Water resistant boots. Much better gripper sole and better insulated, they are seeming to take a little longer to break in though and quite expensive.

100% agree. I think if people don't struggle with their feet they're the way forward. I'll check out the Lems site. Thanks for the heads up

I don't know about other people but I use aftermarket insoles for the cushion effect. Sometimes the tougher ones that don't have a lot of give in them are a lot better than the memory foam insoles. Has nothing to do with bad feet but they do offer a lot of extra Comfort on shoes like that. I had a really good pair once that may have been leather they sure looked like it those are the best insoles I've ever had those things could probably stop a nail

That's a fair point James, thanks. I'll make sure to keep that clear round the insole in future. I hadn't really thought about it from that point of view. Thanks for watching

Nice boots! I'm still looking for an outdoorish barefoot shoe. I transitioned 6 months ago to minimalist shoes and after the first pair I just could not stand the tied fit and high heels of my old shoes, so I had to replace everything. This brand is new for me. Have to check them out. Thanks for your content. Greetings from the Netherlands!

HI Stanley, I agree my friend. I have a few old pairs of boots and trainers I don't like wearing any more. My toes are used to barefoot style footwear. I already have Hobbit shaped feet so the extra room is amazing. All the best from across the sea

Very interesting video! As I'm using Vibram Fivefingers as my everyday shoes since 2016, I've experienced some problems finding a comfortable shoe/boot for airsoft. Actually, the only ones that my feet could stand are Merrell MOAB and Lowa Zephyr (barely the latters, after a thorough break-in and maybe a widening treatment by my favourite shoe repair shop). I do know that it's possible to find the wider versions of these boots, but they're very rare (in my experience). Hope to see a gore-tex version in the future. Thanks a lot for your videos, I found them always full of good infos, enjoyable and clearly understandable even without subtitles (as I'm not a native english speaker 😉). Bests from Italy!

Hi thanks for review. Any tips for what sounds like inevitable wet feet or do things dry out as your going along. I assume you can waterproof the leather
@MoorlanderEDC
4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can definitely waterproof the leather, however, there are two grommets on the inside of the foot arch that allows the foot to breath. if you submerge your foot under water maybe past 2 inches or so it'll allow water into the boot straight away

Hellooo, I got these 3 weeks ago, been wearing them with thick socks and tieing them pretty tight but I still get the heel cup digging in and around my ankle bone. I walk like 2 km a day at least and even done a 3 hour hike in them but i cant say i see much of a difference. Are you sure they get better in time, because I was thinking of just going to a cobler and asking them to remove the heel cup or replace it with something softer :/ Pretty happy with the quality and other features but this is a dealbreaker for my build to be honest.

It's definitely a high heal back to the boot. Took me a while to wear them in. Every now and again it does catch my ankle bone. I think some of those shoe anti rub pads should help

I’ve been wearing these for around 8 ish months but I still have that Achilles rubbing. Any tips to help with that? I know people complain about that spot too and wondered if you had any insight
@MoorlanderEDC

Hmmmmm... I didn't get any rubbing on my Achilles however did get it on the outer side of my ankle bone. I've broken mine in and also fold the tongue round to the outer side of my leg within the boot. I also wear pretty thick socks too, although, I can where cheap "Happy Fathers Day" socks with them now that I'm folding the tongue around over my ankle bone. I hope this helps

I’ve heard these boots are good for deployment, but have bad heel support with a heel cup that makes the heel bleed. Do you have this issue?
@MoorlanderEDC
2 ай бұрын
I definitely had an issue with them to start with. Having broken them in they're grand now. There's the odd day that maybe I get a weird rub but they're definitely a boot that needs to be broken in. I think they could solve the issue by lowering the back heel cup. They're very similar to a training shoe so could do with a lower back. They have a training shoe version of these coming out soon

Are these 8" tall from bottom to top? They seem like they're taller than that
@MoorlanderEDC
6 ай бұрын
All in all they're roughly 9" from the bottom of the sole to the top of the back. They're 8" from where the leather at the back of the boot meets the top of the rubber sole. There's also maybe half an inch rise from the back of the boot at the top to the front where the laces are. The tongue also sticks up another half inch

Honestly still foggy as to what "minimalist" actually means. Either way I have a pair of Danner Tachyons I wear at work and they are very comfy, walk around on concrete all day. I live in southern California so I grew up going barefoot and wearing flip flops all the time lol. I really just like how these look honestly, more low-key than other tactical boots.
@MoorlanderEDC

As far as I recall the minimal side is down to a few things. Zero drop between your heal and toes so you have a more natural stance. Less depth on the sole to have a more natural feel to the ground. Larger toe box to allow better movement of your toes whilst walking. They're very comfortable
@ejjimenez23

Is there a difference in width between regular and wide size?
@MoorlanderEDC
7 ай бұрын
Great question. I didn't realise there was a wider fit with these. I think I have the regular and they're pretty wide anyways. Generally the extra width in in the toe box so that you're toes can open out naturally when you walk. Other shoes force your toes into an unnatural position which isn't healthy for your feet. Barefoot footwear generally has a wider toe box. They're incredibly comfortable
