"The man has never had a job in his life." I like how this is hailed as a praise. And indeed it is. A good hustler doesn't have to work.

My God...That first run out was just awesome....So much style to finish it off with that text book cross corner bank...Of course for Fatty, that was an easier shot to set-up/make...

Back in the 60's I was just a small kid and he held a exhibition at Montgomery Wards in Portland Or. I was picked out of the crowd to play him a game and he scared me! He looked like a round ball wearing green pants an a bright orange shirt. Talked trash the whole game about how his shoes cost more than all of those watching. I was nervous as hell but by that time I thought he was friggin nuts and he talked and I beat him. He autographed a book of his for me and it's one of my favorite treasures.

I know what you mean. I saw a great match live between Mosconi and Fats in the early 80's or so. I can't find it anywhere. But let me tell you this. Fats never stopped talking and he kept breaking Mosconi's concentration. Mosconi won the match but looked visibly upset. I hate to say it but watching Mosconi play is like watching a surgeon doing an appendectomy. Watching fats make you smile.

well, that's kinda true, they both loved computation and loved talking hit. I knew Puckett pretty good and only beat him once in 1984. we raced to 5 for $100 but it was my night , Puckett tossed the$100 down shortly aftr the 3rd game began and paid me the greatest compliment ever. I only met Fats once, he beat me real quick and it was very entertaining I had a blast
