It's no wonder Mike Sigel became a great player watching and playing Mr. Crane when he was a kid. Crane's mechanics and fundamentals were solid!

Lol! @ 7:16 Mosconi wearing bright white leather shoes to shark Crane! Many years ago when they played a match Crane would bring his huge shoe right in line of Mosconi's shot. After repeatedly doing it Mosconi went over and got a can of talcum powder for his hands, then proceeded to dump a HUGE dusty cloud out onto Mr. Cranes Shoe! Lol! The mind games they played in 'dem days!

Earl Strickland is a mix between these two players. Crane is technical in his playing and Fats is talkative to the audience like Strickland is at Steinway Billiards.

Crane asks the referee to remove a brush hair from the cue ball so the ref licks his finger and leaves spit on the cue ball. Michaela Tabb would never do that.

if u look at the way them players of old days stroke there cue.... u will see that there is no fancy stroke going on there....fancy stroke want part of there era.. they just shot good an slow with the best stroke they had... no show off stuff....

Actually the players now a days don't do anything fancy either. It's just the opposite. They hit the cue ball with as just as much speed as they have to and nothing more with a nice, even stroke. I'm not meaning to disagree with you. I'm pretty sure I know what you mean. It's almost like players like Minnesota said "to hell with technique" lol

@Architect987 I agree, he was lucky in that shot! He tried TOO MUCH to pretend that he was aware of what he was doing.. Thank you for the rest information!

Actually, if most of you trash talkers watched this little video clip closely.. Fats wasn't even putting forth the effort it would take to beat a child. He was just NOT interested in being watched by a group of people and everything being filmed. I'd seen the Fat man play and he was never the one to miss a shot, no matter what and in this little clip he misses half the shots he makes just because she don't give a $hit... seriously, how much money was he going to make by winning, right nothing..

I'm pretty sure that's just how he always played. I thought that was his "thing". Maybe I'm wrong, even though this would be the first time if I am ;)

@theglovster I just saw the video.. It gives the impression that he found a stick and thought it would be a great idea to play pool.. Irving is far better than fats.. I cannot believe that the score is 3-3.

@plmijnygcrdzwaquyijo (part 3) My guess is Rudy got in the BCA Hall of Fame because he was an effective promoter of the game of pool on the relatively new communication medium called television that is now dieing. Ive read a number of interviews recently on the net with Ronnie Allen, Danny Deliberto, Grady Mathews and others.

@plmijnygcrdzwaquyijo (part 2) Rudy mcd. I was 22 and all of those guys were middle aged men at that time. That was way before you were fucking born. I had the sense that they all thought Rudy was a shit. Rudy never won a major tournament in his life and Mosconi fucked him up routinely in exhibition matches in the 70s and 80s.
