Oh those sliding semitones! What I love about these backing tracks is how you can hear the original intent of the compositions.

No ! Got to a shop where you have the choice, then try the guitars. 2000e is the starting price of a good gypsy guitar, 500e is the minimum to get a correct sound. But you have to try the guitars.

Is this allowed for reuse under creative commons license or similar? I saw it was linked from the website as a free backing track, but is it free to use, or free to publish our own recordings on top of with credit?
@guitareimprovisation
Жыл бұрын
Hi Lex ! You can re-use is freely if you write credit yes, if it's on youtube and without monetization. If you want to make money with it (streaming, monetization etc) it's not possible, except if we have a specific deal. I hope that helps !

I love this track! I am new to jazz and I am still figuring out stuff that might seem obvious to the rest of you. Can someone help me figure out the scales on this one? My guess: A minor-Aeolian/C major-Ionian above Am and Dm A harmonic minor over the E7 or Bmb5dim7 (diminished seventh arpeggio) The ending kind of confuses me. The Bb is not in the scale at all so I guess it's the "to create tension" chord. Is this the one over which we use the gypsy A minor scale? (A B C D# E F G# A) Thanks!
@guitareimprovisation
7 жыл бұрын
Theodore Stefou Sure! Aim the chord tones first on the 3 main chords Am Dm and E7. You can use the Minor harmonic scale of A, even though it's less"gypsy" to think that way.

Hey thanks for the reply! So what would be the best way to play over this progression? The more "gypsy" way I mean.

LevimanMúsica No : please listen again to the Django version. Also, there is no BbMaj7 in any version of minor swing (the"modern" one is Bb7 E7 Am6 E7). m7 cords are almost never used as tonic chords in Gypsy jazz. I don't mean to be rude, but please do some research before saying "it's wrong it's like that".
