I feel so grateful to hear your take on what's the biggest achievent in the automotive history of our country. Thank you so much to everyone who made this episode possible. I remember sharing this story a couple of years ago with Joe and every since then having a tiny hope every Monday that you might talk about the Torinos, but still I couldn't believe when I saw it. Thank you so much to everyone who made this episode possible. P.S. Even if they are considered legends, the Torinos 1 and 2 went pretty much under the radar for a while. #2 in particular was basically used as a regular racecar until it was totaled and dismantled, with pieces going everywhere in the country. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that it was finally restored and the three Torinos were reunited in 2014 for the first time after the race, 45 years after their time in the spotlight.

Hey man, I live in the US but I’m a South Korean immigrant and spent 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th with a number of guys who had come from your country. In 07 I took a week of leave and went to see some friends in Argentina (they had taken jobs with a PMC firm that was training up Argentinian Special Operations shooters) and I was blown away not only by the local car scene and the ingenuity of the guys involved but also how genuinely welcoming these dudes were and the locals in general. Overall I had a great time in your beautiful country

You guys, need to do a whole episode about the history of Turismo Carretera, and their legends through the years. TC is the most popular motor racing category in Argentina, moving thousand of Ford, Chevorlet, Dodge, and Torino fans across the entire country. Also TC the oldest racing championship in the world with more than 85 year uninterrupted!

This is a really nice surprise to see this here! I had the pleasure of meeting the 3 Torinos (multiple times), the first time, i was with my father in a small car Museum in Buenos Aires where it was displayed the Torino N°1 (a.k.a. the Banana), and since we were the only ones there, the guy in charge of the museum showed us the Torino with more detail... i didnt knew what a Torino was (i was young at that time), the guy opened the hood (which was opposed hinged which i didnt knew) and the hood hit my chin and nose which kinda hurted... since that moment, i turned into a Torino enthusiast. I buy every diecast model, every book, etc. and my dream is to have a Torino.... some day.....

For me as a German guy, pronouncing Bernd like burned is very funny🤣 Bear-nd would be correct. Otherwise - a great story I never heard of. Finishing 4th in an 84h Nürburgring-race is very, very respectable!! Chapeau!!

In Balcarce city there is the Manuel Fangio museum, displaying one of the Green Hell Torinos and also the silver arrow Mercedes himself drive during his F1 career here is a lot of racecar culture, but same as Brasil get your hands over an imported/sport car is pricey af most popular cars for drag race are Fiats and the ford falcon (galaxy in USA), also for usual low price level racing fiat and opel corsa is popular AF

My first guess is they called it "84 hours of Nurbergring" AFTER the event. It was probably originally "X number of miles of or laps of Nurburgring".
