During apartheid era this woman went around the world campaigning for a liberated South Africa. She was probably the biggest African celebrity of her era, and first African female global icon. She needs to be mentioned alongside the great African freedom fighters.

I was priviledged to watch her perform THREE times and to meet her TWICE, she signed my HOMELAND CD. I wish I had remembered to carry the WELELA and GUINEA YEARS. She was so warm and humble I have never been received so well by a celebrity, I just wanted to cry and kiss her feet. In those moments she taught me all I needed to learn about humility.
